The Senior SAS Data Analyst is responsible for generating reports and extracts, analyzing them for financial and non-financial measures, and supporting internal and external customers. This is a heavy duty programming job using SAS. The internal customer list includes actuaries, underwriters, Medicare and Medicaid support team, sales and account managers, regulatory and compliance support teams, finance, and other departments. The external customer list includes employer groups, consultants, broker and regulatory agencies.
Essential Functions:
- Works with customer on defining and documenting business requirement
- Designs, develops and tests new reports and extracts
- Modifies existing reports and extracts to incorporate new business needs
- Develops deep understanding of data in multiple data sources and how to use these data sources correctly
- Performs quality control check on reports and extracts
- Provides customer support on inquiry, usage, and adaptability of reports and extracts
- Provides customer training and presentations
Qualifications:
Basic Qualfications:
- Masters Degree or a bachelor's with 2 years additional experience.
- Minimum 5 years in report development and data analysis
- Excellent communication skills
- Expert in PC SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, and Oracle SQL
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficient in analytical/reporting tools - Business Objects, Cognos , MS Excel, MS Access
- Strong aptitude for programming and data analysis
- Self-driven and work with no or minimal supervision
- Proactive thinker and quick learner
- Team player and collaboration skills
- Excellent customer support skills
- Strong Project Management Skills
