This is an entry level position that analyzes patient satisfaction as it relates to organizational policies, and utilization history; tests hypotheses posed by clients. Under general supervision, this position manipulates, tracks, manages and reports patient satisfaction data.
Essential Functions:
- Performs individual and group behavior studies to understand how group membership is related to attitudes about health care services.
- Analyzes patient satisfaction based on ethnicity, age, education, social status, economic status and income levels.
- Conducts policy analysis applying math and statistical formulas to study public opinions about health care and how organizational policies affect patient satisfaction.
- Assists on issues related to survey validity and psychometric properties.
- Conducts studies and research that address specific questions our clients (health care managers) pose about organizational interventions and patient satisfaction.
- Follows algorithms for testing the hypotheses that our clients pose.
- Executes research design, including suggesting questions to put onto surveys and following protocols for research design to test hypotheses or answer questions.
- Designs main frame sampling programs that allow our mail population to appropriately reflect the universe of visits registered in our outpatient environment.
- Redesigns main frame sampling programs to meet regulatory and external sampling requirements (e.g. CCHRI-PAS), merges and matches survey databases with additional main frame sources (e.g., membership, CPM, clarity tables) to allow hypothesis testing that involves criteria such as membership retention, satisfaction by product line, or relationships between patient variables, utilization and provider characteristics.
- Designs and implements automated methods for producing reports, analyses, and displays using SAS and ACCESS applications.
- Designs and implements automated process for data checking and error elimination.
- Designs and implements processes to automate report distribution via e-mail.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research, or other related field.
- Successful completion of course work in quantitative areas of study (i.e., math, calculus, statistics, research methodology, hypothesis testing); course work must demonstrate a pursuit of applied quantitative studies.
- College transcripts and standardized test scores are required to demonstrate solid quantitative skills, abilities and aptitudes. (e.g., SAT, ACT, AP, GRE, MCAT, GMAT, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of an independent research project is preferred.
