IBMâs Global Business Services (GBS) Public Sector practice offers unique and exciting internship opportunities for practitioners to help public sector leaders meet current challenges and enable them to transform and improve their organizations through world class strategy, process and technology consulting services. Through our IT, Enterprise Applications, Business Analytics & Optimization, and Strategy & Transformation practice areas, interns will contribute right away to top-tier clients and have an opportunity to build a powerful portfolio of interesting and rewarding experiences. Interns work on projects that integrate analytics, strategy, process, information and technology in an effort to help clients solve their most complex problems, optimize performance, modernize IT infrastructures, and find ways to operate more efficiently. We provide solutions and services that contribute to building smarter Government, Healthcare, Education, and State & Local environments.

Public Sector Consultant intern positions in our Business Analytics and Strategy & Transformation practices will enable you to use your analytical, technical, process, and programming skills as you partner with clients and project teams to strategize, develop, and transform business capabilities. Summer interns will also have an opportunity to learn about Consulting by Degrees - our world-class leadership and development program! Consulting by Degrees is designed to provide entry-level consultants the full-spectrum of structured training, development, and practical experience necessary to successfully launch and accelerate their consulting career.
Competitive candidates should have a minimum 3.2 GPA. Above 3.2 is strongly preferred. Intern candidates should be undergraduate juniors with an expected graduation date of December 2013 or May 2014. You must be a US Citizen and willing to live in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Some positions may be available in other locations on a project-by-project basis.
