Description
McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Operations Supervisor/Team Leader for the 2nd shift, located in Lancaster, PA.
McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, PediaCare® upper respiratory medicines for infants and children, ROLAIDS® antacid products, ST. JOSEPH® Adult Regimen Aspirin, and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants.
The Team Leader will be responsible for managing inventory levels and the deployment of finished goods according to customer demand and company objectives. This individual will also execute short-term production objectives ensuring proper and compliant utilization of manpower, equipment, and raw materials. The Team Leader will support new product launch timelines with Marketing, R&D, Sales, and Manufacturing. This individual will also design support the implementation of new machinery to aid in cost reductions and support new business with Engineering. The role will be focused on the supporting Solids Manufacturing Operations and Liquids Packaging Operations occurring on the 2nd shift.
The Team Leader will plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedule and material requirement to ensure control flow of approved material timed to meet production plan. This individual will facilitate the implementation of the production plan, takes corrective action for daily operational problems within the department, oversee the performance of wage personnel and ensure department quality and safety compliance. This individual will plan and direct the administration and implementation of assigned projects as required for the development, manufacture, marketing and sale of the Company's products for domestic and international markets. The Team Leader will study the need for improvements of existing processes, systems and equipment, and in cooperation with related departments, undertakes optimization to increase efficiency and quality and to reduce costs. This individual will also serve as a liaison between McNeil and suppliers and assist in contract negotiations.
The Team Leader is accountable for executing short-term production objectives ensuring proper and compliant utilization of manpower, equipment and raw materials. This individual provides input in developing strategy and departmental business plan, develops recommendations and implements approved solutions to assigned projects and provides leadership to department and plant-wide initiatives and programs. The Team Leader independently provides for the implementation of the production plan, determines and monitors level of material, supplies and production related components necessary to the operation of the department and ensures that staffing is appropriate and trained to meet the production plan. This individual will maintain high quality standards of the department's products by enforcing and/or updating applicable GMP's and SOP's. This individual will adhere to all safety policies, procedures and regulations, and assures similar compliance among direct reports, take necessary action to eliminate hazards and unsafe practices and arranges for proper maintenance of machines, equipment and facilities. The Team Leader will assist in the preparation of yearly budget and controls expenditures within the confines of the budget, recommend and implement cost reduction opportunities and is responsible for defining goals and metrics for production performance measurement.
Qualifications

A Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline and 5 years of general business experience is required. GMP experience is required. Previous people management experience is required. Experience and/or an understanding of product and manufacturing Quality Assurance is preferred. Knowledge of Safety and OSHA requirements preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred. SAP Software experience is preferred. Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and/or certification is also preferred. Experience managing shift work/employees in a 24 hour manufacturing facility is an asset. Experience in a consumer products environment is preferred. Experience with distribution, transportation, and/or raw materials planning is also preferred.
The ideal candidate will be self-driven and self-managed, with people/team management experience. The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication abilities and proven analytical skills. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple project deliverables, produce results; all while achieving the company's goals as they pertain to labor efficiency, cost improvement projects, cycle time optimization, compliance and J&J Credo results.
This position is a 2nd shift opportunity with working hours from 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM. Weekend and overtime work may be required, pending the need of the business. This position will be based out of the Lancaster, PA facility.
