DePuy Orthopaedics is the Joint Reconstruction business offering orthopaedic devices, solutions and supplies for hip, knee and extremity reconstruction, in addition to cement and operating room products.

The candidate will support all aspects of the communications strategy and execution in support of DePuy Orthopaedics business objectives. Primary responsibilities include providing communication counsel and support to business partners, public relations activities supporting product marketing objectives and employee communications.

Responsibilities may include:

Supporting internal and external communications. Building communications messages consistent with the DePuy brand to serve as foundation for internal and external communications initiatives. Developing, executing and overseeing communication and events, including employee internal events and special projects in support of operating company communication. Maximizing use of internal communication channels to support communication initiatives. Establishing an in-depth understanding of diverse employee needs and developing creative internal communications strategies and tools to gain strategic alignment including: communication of strategic priorities, communications on business progress and key company initiatives. Coordinating communication initiatives that support marketing plans, including patient and community outreach programs. Developing and facilitating review of messages, press materials, presentations, speeches, web material, feature articles and other content. Working with public relations agencies and other vendors to develop and implement brand public relations programs. Directing proactive and reactive media relations, including local, regional, medical trade and online media. Supporting issues management efforts.

Proven success in communications and public relations, including:

Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and implement strategic corporate and product PR and communication programs. Mastery of PR tactics and tools. Track-record of managing PR and communication agencies. Extensive media relations experience and knowledge of the mainstream and online media. Knowledge of developing and utilizing organizational communication channels and tools; skillfully delivers messages. Experience achieving communications objectives through social media channels. Aptitude to navigate the communications implications of complex healthcare issues. Exceptional written and verbal communications, presentation, news writing, speech writing, proofreading and editing skills; able to make the complex simple. Proven writer across various internal and external communications vehicles. Strong analytical skills. Ability to develop strategy and work plans and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Ability to partner across various businesses and functions to achieve results in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence others and work in cross-functional teams. Always acts with integrity.

Qualifications


A four year degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field required. Minimum of 7 years of relevant healthcare experience in internal communications and public relations in a corporate, agency, or healthcare setting required. Experience in product approval, launch communications support and/or media relations is preferred.
