Key Account Manager - Mass Channel
An exciting opportunity to work with our key customers in Switzerland in the fast-moving Consumer Health Care sector
With sales in excess of $70 million dollars and growing faster than competition in our key categories, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health Care is the responsible for the growth of our consumer healthcare brands in our key customers in Switzerland.
Supported by marketing, finance and supply chain teams, two business teams focus on the development and execution of winning Customer & Shopper initiatives in our two priority channels:
- Mass Market channel (Food/Grocery Retailers): o.b., Penaten, Carefree, Bebe Young Care, Le Petit Marseillais
- Pharmacy/Drugstore channel: Motilium, Immodium, Nicorette, Visine, RoC, PizBuin, Compeed, Neutrogena
The Mass Market team generates approximately 45% of total company sales and a higher proportion of company profit. With well-established market leading brands such as Penaten and o.b. plus other, newer brands including Le Petit Marseillais, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health Care is an increasingly important partner for our mass market customers. Furthermore, the dynamic mass-market retail environment in Switzerland has opened up new opportunities for both retailers and suppliers that we are now preparing to exploit.
The Key Account Manager will play a key role within the Mass market team and have the potential to grow into a more senior customer management role. The title and precise role and responsibilities will reflect the level of experience of the successful candidate.
Detailed responsibilities of the assignment
The KAM will support the delivery of sales targets and strategic projects specifically in the following areas:
Leadership
• Analyse, set, communicate and execute vision to drive their customers forward and sustain profitable growth
• Regular reviews of performance and progress vs strategic and sales goals
• Monitor competitive activities, assess implications and drive appropriate change
• Interface and work in partnership with internal departments as Customer & Shopper Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain
Organic Growth
• Customer Understanding: Build and share strong customer understanding of segment and targets
• Portfolio Planning: Develop and communicate strategies for their customers and products
• Innovation: Implement 2 changes in Customer management approach each year
New Growth
• Develop and execute Shopper and Category Management initiatives in partnership with key customers
Operational Excellence
• Successfully execute the promotion plan and achieve New Product Introduction targets
• Continually monitor sales activities and in-market sales performances to provide accurate value and volume forecasts
Qualifications
The candidate should have 3 to 5 years experience within a international company with specifically:
- Experience in sales or/and customer marketing
- An broad understanding of the Swiss retail dynamics - ideally with experience of working successfully with Coop and/or Migros
- Outstanding academic performance (University degree level education)
- German, French and English speaking
The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation and communication skills and a proven ability to influence others and demonstrate leadership potential. They should be self-starting and possess a drive to deliver results within a multi-functional team environment.
The job will be based in the head office of J&J Consumer Healthcare - Switzerland in Zug with customer meetings and store visits throughout Switzerland.
