Description

Analytical Sciences is a department of Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing Sciences-Analytical Development (PDMS-AD). The department is responsible for:
- Focused analytical base business support for the Small Molecule (SM) and Large Molecule (LM) R&D and Manufacturing product portfolio
- Development and implementation of new and innovative Analytical Technology Platforms for Large and Small Molecules
- Global Investigation Labs for Small Molecules and Devices
- Analytical Centres of Excellence in:
- microbiology, elemental analysis, cleaning validation, excipients, packaging, device, particulate matter, NMR & MS and synchrotron powder diffraction
- external Analytical Technologies

In the Analytical Sciences department in Beerse, Belgium, there is currently a full-time opening for a (m/f) : Senior Scientist NMR - MS
- Design, lead and perform scientific experiments
- Apply state-of-the art scientific knowledge to ensure high quality of the delivered results
- Work in a multidisciplinary team of researchers and show willingness to learn/explore new techniques
- Support scientifically projects from early to late development phase
- Act quickly and provide expertise and solutions for investigations on commercial products
- Develop test methods and write scientific reports
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, GMP and safety.
- Stay up to date with the scientific literature in the analytical chemistry field.
- Initiate and follow up collaboration with external partners and universities.

Qualifications

- Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Chemistry (NMR/MS - analytical/organic), Pharmacy or a related science/engineering field with 2-3 years post-doc experience or minimum 8 years experience in Pharmaceutical Industry
- Good knowledge and experience in the field of organic synthetic chemistry; peptide-oligonucleotide and/or protein (bio)chemistry are an asset.
- Prior experience in at least two of the following fields: NMR, MS, chromatography
- Ensure high scientific quality standards for experiments and take on responsibility for these experiments.
