The Supervisor, Unit Leader position is a registered nurse recognized for clinical leadership in managing complex, specialized patient populations. Skilled in setting priorities, the Supervisor, Unit Leader organizes and effectively directs daily unit operations to achieve patient care and department goals. The functions of the Supervisor, Unit Leader role are carried out in a manner that is responsive to the department activity and need. The Supervisor, Unit Leader is directly responsible to the Clinical Nurse manager, and works collaboratively to ensure quality patient care. Key actions include coordinating department patient flow and staff resources, serving as a frontline resource to staff, and participating in the performance evaluation of associates.
This is a working supervisor role where you'll have a patient load and lead the shift. This position works 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate from a state accredited school of nursing with current Wisconsin licensure.
Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients. Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships. Able to maintain stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands. Maintains current Health Care Provider Basic Life Support card. Meets all unit specific competencies within the specified time frame.
Able to coordinate patient flow. Assist clinical manager in coaching and managing associates within the unit. Facilitates and provides oversight to the effectiveness of communication of the interdisciplinary team. Able to provide excellent customer service and manage the customer service skills of unit associates.
Previous charge or leadership experience preferred.
