Senior IVR Telecommunications Engineer
GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides installation; technical support and maintenance for existing Aspect IVR system and telecommunications services. Works on moderately complex projects as a team member or individual. Functions independently; under direction of senior professionals; supervisors or managers. Follows documented procedures; checklists and project plans.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors; operates; installs and maintains Aspect IVR and telecommunications solutions and equipment in addition to troubleshooting any type of hardware; software or circuit problems to ensure that solutions perform in a manner which best meets business needs and objectives.
- Responsible for the installation; maintenance and repair of Aspect equipment. Assists in the installation of telecom systems and equipment for new company facilities and expansions. Decommissions equipment at facilities that are closing; including all hardware; cabling and circuits.
- Performs telecom software installations; and maintenance. Performs moves; adds and changes; fault isolation and resolution; and end-user support.
- Implements and maintains cross-connect fields; patch panels; modems and various analog and digital signaling systems. Based on engineering drawings; terminates cables and grounding systems.
- Works with external maintenance support vendors and carriers implementing and troubleshooting solutions.
- Provisions; implements and maintains voice circuits per solution design. Keeps an organized and accurate record of all circuits and associated numbering schemes.
- Performs Aspect health check functions on a daily basis including system reboots and restart of services due to business requirements or emergencies. Implements business continuity plans for telecommunications as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (5-7 years) experience in large network operations control center.
- Possesses knowledge of telecommunications cross-connect fields; patch panels; modems and various analog and digital signaling systems.
- Must be able to read engineering drawings and terminate cables and grounding systems.
- Knowledge of voice network management systems for the collection of data and fault isolation and restoration.
- Knowledge of voice test equipment preferred.
- Excellent consultative and communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical ability and judgment.
