GENERAL SUMMARY


Full Time Position - Responsible for providing medical information, triaging patient symptoms, and coordinating services according to established, measurable criteria to meet the needs of callers and the contractual obligations of clients, in accordance with all regulatory requirements. Must be willing to support the Call Center to ensure consistent

service delivery during the hours of operation (24 hours per day/7 days per week).

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provides medical information and symptom triage through the use of established medical guidelines designed to support the call center process. Communicates information, makes recommendations, and verifies patient understanding regarding the patient’s healthcare issues and/or concerns. Responsible for initial assessment of life, limb, or eye-sight threatening conditions.
  • Educates patients on the appropriate use of the health care system based on clinical judgment, established guidelines, and client needs. Ensures the quality of the service provided by maintaining current knowledge of department resources, policies, and service delivery measurements.
  • Promotes positive communication and effective working relationships with others. Demonstrates initiative to meet individual, team, and company objectives. Actively participates in call center subcommittees to communicate information and ideas in a timely and effective manner among team members.
  • Provides professional services that meet or exceed the patient and customer needs.
  • Works with team members to improve and promote department quality standards.
  • Distributes accurate and timely reporting to client as required. Prepares customer data according to department and documentation standards.
  • Performs other duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS


    - Registered Nurse with current RN license in good standing required.
    - Complies with all state certification requirements in the state where job duties are performed.
    - Previous (5 years) clinical RN experience in one of the following clinical areas: telephone triage, ER, ICU, CCU or Urgent Care.
    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    - Computer experience preferred.
    - Ability to work independently preferred.
