Description
The Finance Director will partner with the APMS Leadership team to provide accurate and timely financial information and insights to Regional business partners and the Global R&D Finance function for planning, reporting and decision making purposes.
This role will develop and implement the Finance strategy to meet the needs of the APMS functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial & Management Reporting
- Lead a robust review and reporting process to produce accurate and timely financial reports.
- Coordinate with Stakeholders - local, regional and Corporate, to meet deadlines.
- Manage the company reporting process to deliver value add financial reports and insights to the APMS Leadership.
- Interact with global financial shared services (GFS) and Country Finance Centers (CFCs) and global R&D Finance to ensure maximizing utilization of centers and driving Cost leverage for the business.
- Manage all accounting, planning, budgeting and financial reporting policies, procedures and systems in line with J&J policies and practices.
- Ensure the business complies with all legal legislations through compliance with the highest standards of financial propriety and discipline at all times.
- Manage all internal controls and other processes & systems across the organization and thereafter, constantly review and upgrade the same for improved productivity.
- Assure financial compliance and control for Health Care Compliance, Sarbanes Oxley and Audit requirements.
- Develop timely and actionable information for annual forecasts, strategic plan, and actual results for functions and projects.
Business Systems & Processes
- Continually develop systems, processes and reports to drive increased operational efficiency.
- Ensure alignment and reconciliation of business / reporting systems.
Business Partnering
- Continually develop customer focused, value add reporting, analysis and recommendations to both regional and global partners.
- Manage costs and P&L-drivers, reviewing actual achievements against the periodic forecasts and flagging key issues to promote accountability.
- Drive portfolio prioritization through sound financial advice, including supporting portfolio valuations.
- Support, train and mentor country-based Finance controllers responsible for APMS spend.
Develop & Implement the Strategic Direction for the APMS Finance Function
- Develop and implement the Finance strategy to meet the needs of the APMS functions.
- Drive the preparation of medium term and long term business plans based on the goals, growth objectives and strategies of APMS.
- Understand broader organizational issues and work with the Country Leadership teams, Country Finance teams, Regional and Global Finance in driving the business objective.
- Work with senior management on strategic and corporate development issues, such as acquisitions / alliances / contracts.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
• Bachelor of Finance, Accounting or equivalent
• Qualified Accountant with 10+ years of experience in Finance
• Professional certification (e.g. ACCA/CA/CPA/CMA) is preferred
• Strong communication skills

LOCATION
The role is Asia Pacific country based and is likely to involve moderate travel in Asia.
