Description

Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for Process Improvement Co-ops for Fall/Winter located in Raritan, New Jersey, Pompano Beach, Florida, and Rochester, New York.

Process Improvement Specialist Co-ops may: Create, maintain, and optimize manufacturing processes required to ensure on-time and cost effective delivery of new and existing products utilizing state of the art technology and automation whenever possible. Evaluate processes and programs to improve product quality, reduce cost, and improve employee safety. Establish standards on new and existing manufacturing operations. Act as a liaison with Engineering, Operations, Product Support and other cross-functional areas to assess manufacturing capabilities and establish standards on new and existing operations. Encompass a wide array of potential responsibilities, from engineering activities to laboratory-based activities.

The Materials Management/Demand Analyst/Procurement Co-op may: Improve, support, and maintain the process and execution of demand and/or supply and inventory forecasting. Work on new product introduction and current product planning, materials supply and production planning, inventory and warehousing management, procurement and sourcing, and project teams. Provide exposure of MPS (Master Production Schedule), MRB (Material Review Board), MUV (Material Usage Variance), waste reduction initiatives. Optimize demand and supply planning processes. Meet company training, quality and compliance standards. Improve customer service metrics and cost efficiencies. Work with cross functional teams from Sales & Marketing, Finance, Production, Suppliers, Warehousing, Transportation, Logistics, Quality, Environmental & Safety, Engineering, and IT.

Qualifications


Enrollment (not necessarily taking classes) in an accredited college/university and majoring in Engineering, Science (Biology, Chemistry, or related major), Supply Chain/Logistics, or Packaging during the Fall/Winter (July - December for semester schedule or September - March for quarter schedule) is required. Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the 6 month co-op is required. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as business partnering skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting. Completion of at least freshman year of undergraduate academic studies is required. Minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 is strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus/community service activities are desired.

Positions are located in Raritan, New Jersey, Pompano Beach, Florida, and Rochester, New York. Students must be able to provide their own transportation to the work location. A stipend will be offered to students that meet the commuting distance eligibility requirements. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future.
