Performs a variety of engineering assignments utilizing a wide range of engineering principles. Works at engineering lead level involving planning development and design of equipment, processes or facilities. Participates with teams of engineers and/or technicians as necessary to achieve project completion. Ensures that manufacturing equipment meets company specifications, schedules and budgets. Facilitates and conducts engineering assignments involving projects of moderate magnitude and scope. Coordinates projects with sub-contractors from beginning of design process through installation and start-up processes. Acts as advocate for continuous improvement of technology and processes.
Adheres to environmental policy and procedures and supports department environmental objectives.

Plans, conducts and directs equipment engineering assignments for production support in areas of uptime, cycle time and yield. Manages multiple projects across various disciplines. Performs concept analysis and justification of capital projects and manage capital project executions. Supervises teams of inside and outside designers, consultants and contractors. Prepares equipment, process, safety and materials specifications and conducts technical analysis of vendor proposals. Qualifies new equipment and performs vendor and site acceptance testing to meet project objectives. Provides training to Operations engineers and technicians to operate, troubleshoot and maintain new equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications


Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering BSME with a minimum of 4 years engineering experience in working in a manufacturing environment is required for this role. Experience in equipment development and installation and qualification of machinery and construction is an asset. Project management, is required. A minimum of 1 years experience working in regulated environment (i.e. Medical Device, Aerospace, Automotive, Silicone chips, etc) is required. The ability to plan, conduct and direct equipment engineering assignments for production support is required for this position. This position will require the ability to participate in Cross Functional Teams both internal and external. Working with a managing Vendors and Suppliers is also required.
Knowledge and understanding and application of principles, concepts and practices of manufacturing engineering is required. 2D & 3D CAD software experience is an asset. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Excellent organizational skills required.

This position may require up to 10% travel both domestic and international.
