As the leader of the health care team, provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Current CA RN license and AHA BLS Certification
- One (1) year recent (within the last three (3) years) full-time equivalent experience in an acute care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
-PICC Certification
-Two (2) years of current acute hospital nursing experience.
- Proficient in IV placement and maintenance, with experience routinely and successfully starting IVs.
- High level critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.
- Prefer completion of formal didactic PICC education, using ultrasound placement technology, within the past five (5)years.
- Experience in the placement of PICC lines in a clinical setting within the last five (5) years.
- Expert communication and collaboration skills with other disciplines (MD, Providers, nursing, therapies.)
- Ability to be flexible, maintain composure and focus in stressful situations, manage time effectively, set priorities and seek direction from appropriate resources when necessary.
- Complete formal didactic PICC education within one (1) year of hire if not previously completed within last five (5) years.

Notes:
- Rotating Weekends
- Ideal candidate will be an IV and/or PICC expert, be seen as a resource on by peers.
- Ideal candidate will also be Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI), have completed a formal didactic PICC education program, be competent in IV placement and maintenance, demonstrate ability to work independently, use critical thinking skills, prioritize and organize work, and have collaborative communication skills.
Primary Duties of the PICC Line RN Include:
- Placement, monitoring and maintenance of PICC lines.
- Knowledge of all aspects of venous access devices.
- Serve as vascular resource, consulting on use and placement of vascular access devices.
- Provide education and preceptoring of staff regarding IV accesses and therapies.
- Assist with continuous quality assurance development and auditing through data collection.
- Assist in research project development.
- Perform other related duties.
