Lead Data Analyst
The Pharmacy Data Warehouse Data Analyst will work closely with customers, vendors, business analysts, application development project teams and Kaiser Compliance in order to resolve information flow and content issues for those transactions based feeds resulting from the DW and fed to users or systems. Principally, these are Out-Patient Pharmacy Information Management systems. This analyst will also assist / advise Pharmacy Financeteams charged with feeds to the G/L and associated Finance Data marts as well as other data marts (point of sale, pharmacy benefits, drug utilization, etc-).
Responsibilities:
- Develop file specification designs across multiple platforms and computing environments.
- The Analyst will support the transformation of DW customer business requirements into environment-specific data definitions that are subsequently used to design logical and physical data models as well as source-to-target mappings for output.
- They ensure the integrity of information through the use of data cleansing techniques, content evaluation, data profiling and the implementation of data management standards.
- Individuals will promote data sharing, reuse of databases and a single source data strategy. They are also responsible for developing an overall data content and Meta Data lifecycle that supports the information needs of the business in a flexible but secure environment.
- The analyst will have a solid understanding of logical and physical database design principles, the system development life cycle and work well in a team environment.
- Responsible for designing, profiling, developing and supporting large DW feeds.
Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Understands, interprets and documents the data needs of the end-user community and internal development staff.
- Provides input to integrated logical data model, minimizing data element redundancy and maximizing the compatibility and usefulness of data.
- Supports data management standards, policies and procedures and single source data strategy.
- Develops, tests, implements, and maintains DW output structures according to guidelines and standards.
- Designs, constructs and implements Meta Data processes for the Data Warehouse.
- Enforces service-level agreements and escalates deviations to appropriate levels of support.
- Provides capacity planning analysis for database resource requirements.
- Synthesizes facts, theories, trends, inferences, and key issues and/or themes in complex and variable situations. Recognizes abstract patterns and relationships between apparently unrelated entities or situations.Applies appropriate concepts and theories in the development of principles, practices, techniques, tools and solutions.
- Gathers and analyzes information or data on current and future trends of best practice.
- Seeks information on issues impacting the progress of organizational and process issues. Translates up to date information into continuous improvement activities that enhance performance.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Management Information Systems, or 4 years of additional work related experience.
Minimum of 5 years of Business Intelligence experience, BI best practices and dimensional modeling
Familiarity with the data disciplines of Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data Quality
Minimum 3 years of experience with the design, testing, implementation, control and maintenance of organizations' logical and relational databases across platforms and computing environments.
Minimum of 3 years of information technology experience in the healthcare industry
Relevant Information Technology experience may include business analysis, software development and design.
Experience and familiarity with software development life cycle processes and methodologies, business process management methodologies, computing technology alternatives analysis, and design and development of solutions for complex initiatives.
Excellent customer relationship management and customer service skills; ability to understand a customer's business and how IT contributes to the delivery of that product or service; excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and relationship building skills.
Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
Strong and demonstrated partnership, communication and relationship management skills with analysts staff and all project team members.
Significant experience working in a team environment and in a large organization
Experience or good working knowledge of SQL, ETL tools such as Informatica, data modeling tools such as ERwin, front-end analytical tools such as SAP BOXI and other industry standard data analysis tools such as TOAD or SQL Analyzer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a globally recognized organization with an emphasis in delivering complex enterprise-level integrated solutions in the healthcare industry and the pharmacy analytical space.
Experience with healthcare Compliance, PHI, HIPPA, SOX and data security issues
Experience in Pharmacy Out-Patient Systems, Pharmacy Benefit Management, Pharmacy Information Management, Products, Technologies, and Interfaces.
