GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for the development of new and/or modifications to existing basic to moderately complex reporting applications, data marts, and reports, using multiple technology languages. Provides technical support and maintenance for multiple existing reporting applications, data marts, and reports in adherence to a
software development life cycle framework. May work independently or as part of a project team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides technical expertise in the development of basic to moderately complex reporting applications, data marts, and reports in adherence to software development life cycles, including coding, testing, trouble-shooting, source and executable code management, documentation and deployment of applications.
- Participates in the identification of business requirements and may provide business consultation for projects in the design phase to support the development of basic to moderately complex reporting applications, data marts, and reports.
- Responsible for technical maintenance and enhancements of multiple existing reporting applications, data marts, and reports in adherence to change management protocol.
- Responsible for monitoring and tracking of monthly production schedules, including being on call for review, trouble-shooting, and approval of completed production jobs.
- May participate in the analysis and development of extracts to support compliance and regulatory data requests on a one-time or ongoing basis for maintenance by various teams.
- Serves as a liaison to the business customers for the development of new and the modification of existing basic to moderately complex reporting applications, data marts, and reports.
- Provides guidance to staff including code development review.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (3-7 years) experience in all phases of application, data mart, and report development life cycles.
- Previous development experience with SAS or SQL (Oracle or SQL Server) and business intelligence tools (e.g. SAS Base, SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence, SAS Data Miner, SAS Enterprise Guide,
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, VBA, VB Script, Visual Basic, and client server or web user interface development preferred.
- Previous experience in health care and/or worker’s compensation industry preferred.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work effectively with business partners, management, vendors, and team members.
