As part of the US Commercial Marketing Team, the Associate Event Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and execution of Biosense Webster's event marketing strategy at the EP Innovation Center located in Irwindale, California. This role has primary responsibility for the planning and execution of customer events, corporate meetings, training programs, and advisory boards that take place at the EP Innovation Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, coordinates and executes the organization and delivery of all events conducted at the EP Innovation Center. Coordinates all necessary tasks among the different functions involved in the execution of the programs at the center. Participates in the development and implementation of event policies and procedures ensuring they are in line with business policy. Establishes and manages event planning budget. Implements cost controls as needed. Collaborates with relevant departments for assistance with details such as transportation, safety, security, food service and other event related items. Negotiates with and contracts with vendors to provide services. Designs and effectively utilizes creative feedback mechanisms to assess impact of events and improve future events. Consults with various departments on possible events during business planning process. Lead the on-site supervision of all Biosense Webster & vendor staff at all events. Manage a cross-functional team at each stage of the event planning cycle, including strategy development, planning, execution & promotion. Spearhead collection, analyze, dissemination, and follow-up of commercial sales leads resulting from all external meetings on a worldwide basis. Drive internal & external communication / promotion of all major events (registration, agendas, invitations, pre and post show marketing campaign). Responsible for negotiation of competitive pricing with Biosense Webster's event marketing suppliers, including: hotels, educational & promotional items, media and creative agencies, and show management, etc. Lead budget creation for individual events and recommend appropriate spending decisions for capital, contract, and miscellaneous expenditures, etc. Develop key ROI indicators for each Marketing event and conduct post-event analyses. Work closely with advertising agency to create sponsorships and advertising campaign consistent with Corporate & Product Brand Identity. Identify new opportunities for sponsorships, advertising, and meeting participation. Provide monthly update to Marketing Leadership Team on Competitive Brand / Event activities. Ensure that all materials meet corporate standards and that required legal language is referenced appropriately and adhere to HCC regulations. Complete special projects and assignments for the Marketing Leadership Team. Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level. Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition. Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Marketing, Communications, or related field from a four-year college or university is required. Minimum 3-5 years of previous experience in Marketing, Event Marketing/Conventions/ Tradeshows, Training, and/or Professional Medical Sales. Experience in the medical device industry is strongly preferred. Must have proven a track record of successful project management outcomes in a medium sized organization (>1000+ people) is preferred. Strong organizational skills, simultaneous management of multiple projects, attention to detail and adaptability are a must. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills within all levels throughout the organization and with customers are required. Financial analysis of budgets, costs, and return on investments are preferred. Flexibility to adjust as needed within in a fast-paced work environment. Knowledge of medical device industry and FDA regulations is preferred. Fluency in a second language is a plus. High-level of expertise with Microsoft Office Suite in a PC environment.
