Job description
The Data Architect develops and implements the data architecture for the business intelligence application. This includes gathering data requirements, developing the data architecture design, developing the logical data models, implementing the physical data models, and capturing metadata.
Consultants will be located in the metropolitan area at an IBM office or at an IBM client site.
Generally projects and clients are within the metropolitan area and require very limited travel outside of the local area. However, some projects do require up to 100% travel for an extended period of time that is generally less than 1 year. Candidates will be required to be available to travel as necessary to meet business requirements. This may include travel up to 100% of your work time.
Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 4 years experience in designing/implementing data architectures
- At least 3 years experience in business intelligence/data warehousing
- At least 3 years experience in relational and star schema data modeling experience
- At least 3 years experience in defining and designing data aspects of an I/T solution
- At least 3 years experience in designing/modeling (logical and physical) data integrations between multiple source systems
- At least 3 years experience in designing/modeling the data repository within the Liferay Portal, using MySQL
- At least 2 years experience in designing/modeling data warehouse (assume MySQL) for business intelligence reporting tools
- At least 3 years experience in identifying/documenting common Master Data (MDM) and metadata elements among source systems
- At least 3 years experience in assisting with designing/implementing an ETL strategy (multiple source systems) to support data integration and data warehouse
- At least 3 years experience in proposing best practices in data governance and data security
- Readiness to travel Up to 5 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
- U.S. citizenship required
