DePuy, Inc. develops and markets products under the DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., DePuy Spine, Codman & Shurtleff, Inc., and DePuy Mitek divisions. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., provides products for reconstructing damaged or diseased joints, and for repairing and reconstructing traumatic skeletal injuries; DePuy Spine develops, manufactures and markets innovative solutions for a wide range of spinal pathologies and recently introduced Charite, the first artificial spinal disc. Codman & Shurtleff, Inc., provides products for the surgical treatment of neurological and central nervous system disorders through products such as hydrocephalic shunt valve systems, implantable drug pumps and micro-surgical instrumentation. DePuy Mitek offers innovative devices in sports medicine for the treatment of soft tissue injuries.

The Mechanic II, Production Maintenance will be responsible for maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and supporting all aspects of DePuy's production maintenance activities. This includes, but is not limited to, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, equipment enhancements, new equipment installations and Lean rapid response teams. Support manufacturing related utilities; compressed air system, dust collection systems and distilled water system. Maintain and repair CNC Mills, Lathes, Grinders, EDM's and Robotics with limited direction. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment components. Prioritize work orders and emergency repairs based on equipment criticality. Support manufacturing recycling initiatives/recycle room activities. In addition, this individual will be responsible for compliance with all company regulations, policies and procedures.

Qualifications


A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. Technical school preferred. A minimum of 4 years of related equipment maintenance experience and/or training is required. Experience maintaining CNC Mills, Lathes, Grinders and EDMs (Electrical Discharge Machines) preferred. Experience maintaining mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment components required. Welding, Brazing, Silver Solder, Oxygen/Acetylene experience a plus. Basic computer skills required. Must be a certified Forklift and Power Pallet Jack Operator or be willing to become certified. Must be able to supply own hand tools/rollaway toolbox (i.e. screw drivers, socket wrenches, etc.). Must be able to communicate (read, write and speak) effectively in English. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to left heavy loads, stand and/or walk more than 90% of the time and perform twisting and turning activities required. The ability to work in confined or awkward areas, climb ladders and work from heights required. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be a team player and be able to work with minimal technical supervision. Must be able to work 3rd shift (10:00pm-6:30am Sunday-Thursday). The ability to work overtime to support 3rd shift operations, including weekends, and to participate in on-call rotation is required. This position requires the incumbent to submit to and pass periodic and random drug testing as a condition of initial and continued employment.
