Position Description: The Oracle, DB2, SQL DBA Administrator position will Implement and maintain all functions of database system, including access, methods and time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology. Monitors overall standards and procedures, assists in integrating various systems. Consult with users, determine requirements and recommends database establishment and utilization.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 (three) years related experience including control and development of standards
Advanced skill and experience in supporting DB2 on Windows and Linux environments such as performing advanced tasks including performance, high availability, security and networking
Advanced skill in DB2 UDB such as using triggers and SQL stored procedures in DB2 UDB, object relational support of DB2 UDB for iSeries and AS/400e, support of Large Objects (LOB), user-defined types, user-defined functions and datalinks.
Advanced skill in Database Design as well as Database modeling such as interfacing with databases and other applications, use of advanced features and programming
Experience with scripting in a Unix environment such as use of user-defined variables (including arrays), numeric variables, operators, assignment statements, and input/output operations.
Advanced SQL skills such as designing code and complex queries, program design, packages, cursors, extended interface methods, and collections.
Experience with Database performance and tuning to include tuning methodology as well proactive tuning and reactive tuning methods.
Experience with System performance and tuning such as balancing resources, memory and disk storage, and reviewing system values Additional Requirements: Targeted Technical Skills:
-Microsoft SQL database administration including: installation, initialization, authentication, query tuning, advanced T-SQL, system tuning, resource contention analysis, backup and recovery, standby, replication, etc.
-Configuration management (for automating some types of deploy/maintenance work)
-Bottleneck analysis, in both physical and virtual environments
-Recovery planning, from the database to the application
-Database Architecture and design for sizing and scalability
-Ability to perform code reviews for development teams in preparation for release to production

Targeted Responsibilities:
-Care and feeding of database systems, primary focus is Microsoft SQL, some DB2, or Oracle experience is a plus
-Database support, diagnosis, tuning, and troubleshooting (primary job functions)
-Interface with development teams to design, implement, troubleshoot, monitor, and improve corporate projects
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive consulting at highest technical level, ensuring efficiency and security.
Researches and evaluates alternatives and recommends solutions for system design.
Evaluate, test and produce recommendations for the selection, use and deployment of DBMS software, data management tool and utilities, data ware and replication tools.
Support problem resolution; consult and advise on application design and tuning; plan, organize and execute product benchmarks for threshold and functionality.
Provide Data Administration support for the development and maintenance of production and test database environments for distributed applications.
Participate in product evaluations, design review session, data requirement meetings and consulting with application development products.
