LifeScan is a division of Johnson & Johnson family of companies, engaged in the manufacturing, global distribution and marketing of blood glucose monitoring systems for diabetic patients throughout the world, to create a world without limits for people with diabetes.

In this managerial position your role will be to execute marketing strategies and tactics to growth the LifeScan business in Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxemburg; working very closely with the Business Unit Director, the commercial and market access functions and your peers across the Northern Cluster and EMEA regional team. As Senior Marketing Manager you will report to the Cluster Marketing Director Northern Europe (UK & Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxemburg, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland), you will be part of the Northern Cluster Marketing Team and the Benelux Leadership Team. The LifeScan BENELUX offices are based in Beerse, a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp.

Skills and capabilities needed for the role:

Strategic Planning:

In-depth knowledge and practical experience in the preparation and execution of strategic and commercial business plans. Experience in the development, implementation and on-going quantitative evaluation of marketing plans, strategies and tactics.

Analysis:

Experience in analyzing quantitative and qualitative market research data to make decisions, as well as analyzing market and performance data and on-going tracking of it to evaluate marketing activities based on defined KPIs and to be able to make informed business decisions with the Benelux Leadership Team. Be knowledgeable of forecasting and market models and be able to put together business cases, on-going forecasting accuracy models, source of volume models, patient demand and market share models.

Brand Management:

Excellence in leading and ensuring execution of local business plans, cycle plans and launching new products following EMEA directions. Able to ensure brand integrity by leading efforts across multiple channels (HCPs, Trade, Patient, Payers).

Leadership / People Management

: Proven track record in managing multidisciplinary project teams to implement marketing activities. Ability to lead, persuade and inspire, leading by example.

Project Management:

Strong experience in management and implementation of projects by collaborating with the EMEA team and interdisciplinary departments locally, Sales in particular.

Media, Promotion & PR:

Experience in the development, implementation, control and evaluation of promotional and PR activities (above and below the line, HCP and patient promotions). In-depth experience in leading and working with Media and PR agencies (briefing preparation, implementation and evaluation of campaigns) to ensure best use of resources and highest share of voice.

Budget

: Considerable experience in the management and control of marketing budgets to achieve promotional effectiveness, maximum impact and market share gains.

Sales:

Familiarity with traditional distribution channels, sales force and key account models. Proven success in the implementation of marketing campaigns and successful sales delivery (sales messaging and materials).

Communication:

Professional and direct communication style. Good communicator to peers and customers. Ideally working experience within international marketing structures (matrix organizations / EMEA).

Presentations:

Considerable experience in creating and giving presentations. Used to present to different audiences (e.g. Business Plan; Sales Conferences, Board).

Qualifications


Total 8-10 years of business experience, of which at least 5 demonstrated marketing experience. Background in Life Science (Pharma or Medical Devices), ideally with strong Direct to Patient experience.

You will be a strong leader, skilled at building excellent working relationships across a range of different functions. You will also demonstrate strong technical marketing knowledge, working across the medical devices or pharmaceutical industry. Competitive and highly motivated, you will possess strong communication skills and a keen team work ethic.
