Key responsibilities include:
- The function is overall responsible for the reliable and compliant supplies from the EM including managing the contract, leading and coordination projects and day-to-day interactions to monitor performance and resolve issues.
- The individual organizes the API technology transfer, provides design for manufacturability inputs, develops scale-up, and validation plan for the manufacturing of batches at partner, contractor or supplier.
- The individual will manage the technical programs at the EM, including coordination of tech transfer projects, supplier qualification, management of change, capacity analysis, supply performance reviews and programs to meet industry and regulatory standards. The individual will develop the program proposals and related budgets, and tracks project progress. The Manager ensures project timelines and required project milestones are met.
- The individual acts as the Single Point of Contact between the partner/contractor and the J&J functional/project resources related to the technical programs and with the Planner/Buyer from the internal JSC sites who are the customer.
- The individual will manage effective relationships with key suppliers that provide the best quality at the lowest total cost of ownership and improving the performance and capability of key sources of supply. The individual will collaborate internally and externally to achieve total cost reductions and total spend mgmt.
- The individual will monitor activities at EM to ensure activities comply withindustry, company and regulatory expectations for safety, technical rigor and cGMP practices.
- The individual will present on programs to senior management and ensure the business integrity and quality of all data produced.
- This individual will create a motivated and focused team environment, aligned with organizational goals and with company policy.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred. A degree in chemical engineering, or related is preferred. At least 5 years of experience in the chemical API industry is required with a preferred background in engineering and chemical equipment . Experience with chemical manufacturing or development is required. Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including in depth operating knowledge of the processes and functions involved in API development and commercial manufacturing of chemicals or APIs is preferred. Interest in contract manufacturing activities and creating working relationship with partners is required.

Ability to accomplish projects at partners/contractors through interpersonal skills, leadership style and broad operational expertise is required. Demonstrated project management and leadership experience in managing cross functional/cross company projects is required. Ability to foster team productivity and cohesiveness and to work collaboratively in a complex, multi-company and multicultural environment is required. Demonstrated ability to make difficult decisions in a timely fashion is required. Planning and organizational skills are required.

This position will be based in Beijing, China. This position will require 30% travel.
