The General Surgery Group, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Senior Marketing Manager, Front-End (Upstream) - Global Strategic Marketing, Access (Trocars) & Ligation Platformslocated in Cincinnati, OH or Somerville, NJ.

The 'Front-End' or 'Upstream' function within Global Strategic Marketing is accountable for developing the global strategy for a diverse set of product platforms within ETHICON Surgical Care, which are in alignment with the strategic imperatives for the franchise. Further, the group is tasked with developing a deep understanding of its markets & customers to uncover and expand insights that will drive platform innovation and enable pipeline prioritization decisions, which ultimately enable achievement of Global Strategic Plan financial projections.
The Senior Marketing Manager within the 'Front-End' function of Global Strategic Marketing for the Access & Ligation platforms is accountable for: Developing the 7-Year Global Platform/Business Strategies to maintain and expand our market position in these key segments, which account for over $1 billion in annual revenue. Defining focus segments and geographies. Uncovering and translating market/customer insights into meaningful innovation, resulting in a focused pipeline for each of these product platforms. Establishing guidance/direction for 'Downstream' brand strategy, through platform Strategy & Innovation Council.
In addition, this role is responsible for co-leading New Product Development projects with R&D and Operations; from early stage 'Exploratory' (Stage 1) to 'Development' (Gate 2 / Charter), at which time they are responsible for smooth leadership exchange to Downstream Marketing. Additional responsibilities include alignment of New Business Development activities with global platform strategies and managing global Key Opinion Leader Advisory Board meetings.

Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in is required. MBA preferred. A minimum of 7 years of relevant business experience (Sales/Marketing) is required. A minimum of 5 years marketing experience is preferred. People management/supervisory experience are preferred. Surgical/Medical experience is preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, project management and organizational influence skills is required. Experience in product development including needs assessment, market research, portfolio management and product lifecycle management preferred. Excellent writing and presentations skills required. Experience managing complex cross-functional relationships is required. Good interpersonal skills with emphasis on leadership, relationship development and influence management. This position requires up to 30% overnight travel, including international.
