To be responsible for evaluation, treatment planning, referral, care management, individual follow-up, & group therapy based on clinical evaluations of targeted populations; & acts as a consultant & liaison to physicians & clinical staff as well as outside agencies.
Essential Functions:
- Completes mental status & psychosocial assessment of members.
- Provides individual & group psychotherapy & classes implementing goal specific & measurable treatment plans.
- Evaluates, counsels & refers members to more appropriate mental health provider(s) or to community resources when indicated.
- Provides urgent care & crisis intervention as indicated.
- Provides more specialized treatment modalities when qualified by special training.
- Consults regularly w/ psychiatrists on member care.
- Communicates w/ Behavioral Health colleagues, Primary Care providers, & other Kaiser Permanente providers & agencies as needed to facilitate integrative care.
- Prepares & submits reports on mental health activities as requested.
- Participates in staff development meetings & in quality of care activities on a regular basis.
- Manages panel & practice management within departmental guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
This position will be working at the Woodbridge and Fredricksburg medical centers.
Preferred skills: Ideal candidates will have the capacity to treat child, adolescents and adults.
Start time may vary to accomodate needs of KP members.
Salary Range: $31.96 - $38.10
Schedule Details:
- Ability to work at other NOVA Medical Office Buildings as required.
- Possible evening hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years of Post Master's clinical experience in mental health required.
- 1 year of experience providing individual & group therapy required.
- 1 year of experience providing urgent care or crisis intervention required.
- 1 year of experience providing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) required.
- master's degree in Social Work or Social Science required.
- Practitioner Discipline Listed as being Accepted by Medicare
- Licensed as a clinical social worker by the state in which the service is performed - LCSW in VA, LCSW-C in Maryland, or LICSW in DC required
- National Provider Identification (NPI) required
- Strong Assessment & Diagnostic Skills

- Experience providing DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) preferred.
- Experience working w/ Borderline Personality Disorder Populations preferred.
- Experience working in an IOP.
- Experience in DTB.
- Experience working with OCD, Borderline Personality Disorder Populations, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Eating Disorders,Sexual Identity Disorders, Sexual Dysfunction.
- Bilingual.
