The Intermediate Project Manager in the Kaiser Permanente Information Technology (KP-IT) National Facilities Services Business Information Office (NFS BIO) is responsible for the successful delivery of one or more ITcapital construction projects for facilities in within the South Bay Program area (Redwood City, Santa Clara, San Jose) through disciplined KP-IT project management processes and close collaboration with business partners, team members and various IT functions. The NFS BIO partners with Kaiser Permanente's National Facilities Services (NFS) to provide the IT services needed to support construction projects at Kaiser Permanente facilities - a variety of remodel and renovation construction projects. The Intermediate Project Manager will assume end-to-end project accountability to ensure delivery of IT solutions and services that provide the highest value in support of capital construction projects.
Essential Functions:
- Provide project management for project team members, set achievable objectives, maintain a positive outlook, take responsibility, make decisions, and provide constructive feedback.
- Build, track and monitor project plan(s) using either MS Project or NIKU Workbench to ensure that the project is on schedule and budget and that it remains so.
- Ensure project data is accurate and available for review by management and unsure that management is proactively informed of potential problems and risks so that they can be mitigated or resolved before they become insurmountable.
- Utilize a proactive change control process.
- Use negotiation skills to achieve successful project outcomes around issues, scope, schedule, costs/budget and resources.
- Manage the project funding/budget process.
- Matrix manage project team members from other KP-IT groups who supply resources and services to the project.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field or an additional 4 years or related work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of project related work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint.
- Proficient in project management.
- Possess organizational proficiencies to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under limited supervision.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Highly motivated, self-starting, and committed to achieving results and have a strong sense of ownership and follow-through to resolution.
- Ability to work with ambiguity.
- Ability to travel at least 10% -20% of the time with some overnight trips, as required.
Preferred qualifications:
- HealthCare and Information Technology experience and knowledge.
- Certified Associate Project Manager.
- Work experience with data center build outs including procurement, asset management, vendor and financial management.
- Proficient in RPM for time reporting, and scheduling
