Establish & maintain the Regional Employee Health & Infection Control program & functions. Also responsible for planning, developing, implementation, evaluation, & continuous improvement of Employee Health & Infection Control activities across the continuum of care in the KP Mid-Atlantic States Region.
Essential Functions:
- In partnership w/ the designated Physician for Employee Health, ensures that an effective program is in place for Employee Health that encompasses the scope of services provided in the Region.
- In partnership w/ the designated Physician for Infection Control, ensures that an effective program is in place for Infection Control that encompasses the scope of services provided in the Region.
- Collaborates w/ & makes recommendations to leaders of the medical office buildings & ambulatory surgery centers to ensure compliance w/ regulatory agencies.
- Ensures that policies & procedures are maintained & complete, available w/in the medical office buildings & ambulatory surgery centers, in-serviced to all applicable staff.
- Through strategic planning, expert leadership & consultation w/ regional leaders, identifies & implements infection control & employee health goals & objectives related to: surveillance, data analysis & reporting, infection prevention & control practices that eliminates potential hazards for members, physicians, staff, & visitors.
- Ensures appropriate selection & usage of products & equipment related to cleaning, antisepsis, disinfection, & sterilization.
- Develops & implements educational programs designed to reduce &/or prevent infections.
- Coordinates the activities of the employee health/infection control nurses, providing in-services, education, & direction to ensure consistent practices across the Region.
- Tracks & trends employee injuries & illnesses, infection control issues, & other employee health related issues to increase identification of trends.
- Ensures that corrective action plans are developed & implemented when indicated.
- Coordinates promotion of infection control & employee health programs via newsletters, internet sites, staff education, & other methods.
- Serves on internal & external councils, committees, & groups as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
-A minimum of 5years of experience in an ambulatory or hospital infection control &/or employee health nursing, quality management, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience w/ PC based applications & clinical information systems.
- BSN, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Medical Technology required (or must complete within six months of employment).
- Valid licensure & certifications required (RN or other).
- Broad knowledge & understanding of health care delivery in an ambulatory setting technical & quality assurance issues related to all areas of health care required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Microbiology or other public health related field preferred.
- Certification in Infection Prevention & Control preferred.
