Janssen Therapeutics will be hiring for a Director of Training & Development to support the sales training of specialty product sales specialists.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Director of Training & Development, who will be responsible for training functions that will include the design and delivery of initial and advanced sales training, reimbursement training, and general field related training. This individual will work with sales and marketing management to understand training needs as they relate to company goals and objectives, existing products, new products/indications, customers, territory management, key company initiatives and compliance training for Sales Representatives, District Managers and Account Managers. This individual will partner with internal instructional design personnel and external suppliers to design training solutions.

This individual will partner with field sales management, brand management and other internal functional business partners to determine training needs and develop efficient and effective solutions to include: methodology of learning, training processes, presentation and distribution methods, creation of support materials (i.e. instructor led training materials, leaders guide, participant guides, job aids, handouts, assessments) training content and metrics. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervision of the sales training managers, and oversight of training programs. Partnership with the COE Training & Development team to provide strategic training solutions to achieve business needs is essential. The successful candidate will also provide oversight and support to any vendor-lead training initiatives and effectively manage available resources (financial and head count) within budget.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree required, masters preferred. Direct experience supporting a sales/marketing organization is required. Previous experience managing direct reports who are at the manager level (or higher) is required. Previous budget management experience is required. The incumbent must be strong in the following competencies: strategic thinking, organization and talent development, problem solving, collaboration and teaming, intellectual curiosity, prudent risk-taking, results and performance driven, written and verbal communications, consulting skills, program development, and self-awareness and adaptability. Background in training solutions and training systems is required. Experience with training processes and knowledge of training methodologies for adult audiences is required.

The position is based in Titusville, NJ. Overnight travel of approximately 15%-25% including sales and medical meetings, training, and field visits is required.
