Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Business Process Consultant in Pasadena. This position will support the Application Access Lifecycle Management (AALM) Program, whose aim is to enable KP workforce access to and termination from KP information systems appropriately and timely. The Consultant will report to the Senior Manager for AALM.

Essential Functions:
- Activities to manage include planning, performing, and implementing process improvement initiatives to achieve organizational effectiveness and regulatory compliance. Activities managed will have a specific focus on business application automation activities undertaken or supported by AALM and as requested by the Sr. Manager of the AALM Program.
- Process management functions include data gathering and analysis, process mapping, benchmarking, best practice research, metrics development and implementation, obtaining stakeholder involvement, obtaining leadership agreement, implementing improvements, monitoring ongoing and post-process improvement, assisting in planning and managing budgets, and documentation of standards and performance for the initiative.
- Activities are undertaken and executed in support of organizational goals and are accountable for providing business process solutions to meet internal and external customer needs and expectations across the program.
- Provide technical support to program-wide research and analysis of strategic options for the automation of business applications and systems; provide technical assistance to business application owners regarding AALM activities to support automation projects; and developing and providing training and guidance related to AALM activities.
- Formulates complex, effective strategies consistent with the business and competitive strategy of the organization and/or functional area.
- Examines policy issues and strategic planning with a long-term as well as short term perspective. Determines objectives and sets priorities; anticipates potential threats or opportunities and vets them within the organization as appropriate.
- Defines procedures and practices which promote the adoption of appropriate solutions and sustainability of desired results in complex environments.
- Uses efficient and cost-effective approaches to integrate technology into the workplace and improve program effectiveness. Develops strategies using new technology to enhance decision making.
- Ensures that effective controls are developed and maintained to ensure the integrity of the organization.
- Monitors and evaluates complex plans; focuses on results and measuring attainment of outcomes.
- Establishes operational objectives and work plans
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives and functional trends.
- Analyzes recommendations made by others to solve issues bearing broad or company-wide impact.
- Travel up to 15% of the time.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years of process and/or project management, consulting, or related business experience
- Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of equivalent experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, results oriented and strong consulting skills
- Proficiency in customer & client relations including team focus, influence, partnership and collaboration
- Being a self starter and able to work with minimum guidance/supervision are a must
- Possess strong critical thinking and detailed analytical/problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing projects related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and HIPAA
- Experience in health care management or consulting in the area of health information technology or health information security and security operations
- Project management experience and working knowledge of project management methodologies
- 8+ years of process and/or project management, consulting, or related business experience
- Advanced degree in related field
