The Consultant develops and implements quantitative and qualitative B2B research studies in the form of custom research projects and tracking research programs to produce actionable insights to inform business partner decisions and customer relationship management objectives. Consultant will support commercial lines of business in the group market, Sales and Account Management and work closely with Market Assessment and Planning. The Consultant will need to integrate effectively external and internal market intelligence to design, deliver, and generate research products and insights.
Essential Functions:
- Reports to the Senior Director of Market Research and supports the National Market Research MSSA research team and regional National Market Research leads in all Regions.
- Participates in all aspects of B2B research, including project design, programming, data tabulation and statistical analysis. Additionally, prepares written and oral presentations with the ability to convey technical research findings to both lay and technical audiences.
- Provides ongoing consulting to key business partners acting as a liaison to transfer National Market Research knowledge and insights.
- Develops and disseminates deep insights into the customer health benefits decision-making process across the continuum from awareness to installation to renewal.
- Able to identify customer relationship management best practices and work with internal business partners to evolve Kaiser Permanente tools and capabilities accordingly.
- Must possess strong bias to drive action through the development of strategic implications and recommendations.
- Keeps abreast of best practices and new research in the area of research design for the development and administration of online surveys. Continuously drafts recommendations for new features/capabilities to improve the quality of online and offline research.
- Assists with the creation, maintenance and adherence of the technical infrastructure for all reporting, dashboards, scorecards within the region. This may include complex reports with sophisticated formulas and grouping or summarization of data.
- Exercises a continued willingness to learn and excel; identifies imaginative and resourceful solutions to problems; thinks outside the box; knows there are better ways to do things and seeks opportunities to provide creative and analytical solutions - proactively.
- Provides analysis, coordination, and communication support to market research projects on a regional and interregional level.
- Participates in and supports the design of market research projects, including survey design, interview guides, sampling and recruitment designs.
- Supports development of research vendor RFP's and assists in research vendor management.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum BA/BS with 4+ years related experience; Master/doctorate with 2 years of experience.
- Exceptional writing/language skills with respect to report generation, presentations, crafting of survey questions and survey instructions.
- Extensive knowledge of survey research techniques and methods. Strong expertise in questionnaire design. Demonstrated mastery of questionnaire construction and survey instrument flow.
- Strong experience with web-based survey tools such as, Qualtrics, Survey Gizmo, SurveyMonkey, Zoomerang, Confirmit, Sawtooth, etc.
- Moderate knowledge of statistical methodologies, including, multivariate regression, correlation matrixes, and factor analysis.
- Advanced working experience with Excel formulas and spreadsheets: formulas include, but not limited to v-lookup, if statements, pivot tables, sort, subtotals, charts, filters, and graphs.
- Strong SPSS analysis skills.
- Strong client relationship skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both marketing and health care delivery professionals essential.
- Experience in employer, broker, health plan , member and patient experience/satisfaction research strongly preferred.
