The IBM GBS Business Analytics and Optimization (BAO) team combines sophisticated analytics with market-leading global solutions, deep industry insight and business consulting expertise. Our practice consists of the following areas:
> Advanced Analytics & Optimization - Enhance organizational performance using tools that apply advanced mathematical modeling, deep computing, simulation, data analytics and optimization techniques to improve operational efficiency. Provide solutions that employ analytical engines, data mining, and statistical models to address specific business process areas.
> Business Intelligence & Performance Management - Empower decision making and improved business performance by providing solutions that grant timely access, analysis and reporting of actionable, accurate, and personalized information.

â?¢ Demonstrated achievement in technology (Relational Databases, SQL, J2EE, Java, Web Development, BI Tools, Cognos, Microstrategy) or a technology background (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Integrated Science & Technology and Management Information Systems)
â?¢ Ability to work with the customer to identify business problems/data sources and develop analytical models such as econometric, statistical, predictive, stochastic, operations research models
â?¢ Ability to analyze data including designing/administering databases, and designing/implementing data models. Candidates will be required to be able to interpret data and draw conclusions
Required Qualifications:
â?¢ MS, MBA or PhD degree
â?¢ Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% to work at client site (Monday- Friday)
â?¢ Reside within 50 miles or less of the Washington, DC metro area.
Preferred Qualifications:
â?¢ Business process development, technology package implementation and change management experience
â?¢ Graduate degree with concentrations in the following but not limited to: Business, Finance, Risk Management, Computer Science and Engineering; Information Sciences and Technology; Computer or Management Information Systems; Applied Mathematics; and Applied Statistics.

- Bachelor's Degree
- Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
- U.S. citizenship required
- English: Intermediate
Preferred
- Master's Degree
- At least 1 year experience in pursuing your MS, MBA or PhD degree
- At least 3 years experience in consulting, internal consulting and/or related work experience
- At least 3 years experience in the Public industry (Healthcare, Defense and Intelligence, General Government, Homeland Security and Justice)
- English : Fluent
