Senior Systems Engineer- Active Directory Architect and Administration
GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides technical support for UNIX/VMS/Windows/SAN hardware and software. Consults with clients andother technical staff on complex UNIX/VMS/Windows/SAN design, implementation, and maintenance solutions. Evaluates new tools and technologies for UNIX/VMS/Windows/SAN. Manages UNIX/VMS/Windows/SAN vendor relationships, and problem resolution. Responsible for capacity planning
and performance tuning.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical support for data protection related projects. Identify requirements; assess and present options.

Research; evaluate; and recommend new tools and technologies for enterprise backup and recovery.

Provide capacity planning and manage performance of the enterprise backup environment.

Consult with clients and other technical staff on complex enterprise backup design; implementation; or maintenance issues. Analyze business requirements and recommend technical solutions.

Install; configure; and maintain enterprise backup hardware and software.

Work closely with clients; vendors; and other technical staff to identify and resolve complex issues or problems that impact the enterprise backup environment.

Provide technical support for UNIX/VMS/Windows/VMware backups and restorations.

Provide backup and recovery support to server; database and application teams.

Perform other duties as required.

Up to 10% travel required.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (5-7 years) experience in UNIX/VMS/Windows/SAN as a systems administrator.
- DDNS and DFS administration
- File Share Management
- Remote Replication- Sites and Services Administration
- General User Administration
- Previous experience in a distributed processing environment.
- Experience supporting and trouble-shooting RDBMS and LAN/WAN networks.
- Experience with capacity planning and performance management tools and concepts.
- Experience with Shell programming and C/C++ or Java programming languages.
- Significant knowledge and technical understanding of O/S and network technologies.
- Excellent consultative and communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical ability and judgment.
- Ability to work effectively with clients and other technical staff.
