GENERAL SUMMARY


The successful candidate will lead business requirements gathering and solution proposals by working with IT staff, internal customers and external clients as related to applications for enterprise correspondence and other applications in the Medical Management and Call Center area.  This position will also play a significant role in supporting integration efforts related to Coventry's core claims adjudication system. Working directly with customers at all levels within the organization, IT staff, and outside parties, provides leadership, functional expertise, and business consulting in facilitating operational business requirements and solution proposals or business guidance to satisfy governance and compliance regulations and reporting. This position is accountable for providing leadership and direction to ensure the appropriate collection of data, documentation of information, and presentation of findings. This position will also provide mentoring and guidance to staff.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


- Lead projects, enhancements, and production support efforts related to enterprise correspondence and/or integrations to Coventry's core claims adjudication system in support of Medical Management/Call Center Applications.
- Conducts analysis of client business processes and functional or reporting requirements. Prepares appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
- Reviews and develops the analysis, leads the evaluation of existing application products or reporting methods, and recommends efficient, cost effective solutions which support client business processes and functional requirements.
- Provides leadership and direction to staff and customers to ensure that the business requirements are appropriately defined and that an enhancement or project is warranted.
- Coordinates and leads cross-functional task forces to identify and document functional or reporting requirements, work flow, information sources and distribution paths, and system specifications.
- Reviews the development of business cases to ensure the cost estimates, service, and benefit dimensions of proposed large, complex IT projects are appropriately reflected.
- Applies expert technical and business knowledge to analyze client requirements in project areas such as: IT testing and product acceptance, new business operating models with innovative approaches to IT solutions support, market research of emerging or available product functionality, operational readinessassessment, IT reporting, process documentation, governance, and compliance.
- Performs knowledge transfer to other staff. May review their work.
- Provides mentoring and guidance to staff.
- Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

JOB SPECIFICATIONS


- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (10+ years) experience in information systems development or implementation with progressively more complex responsibilities and accountabilities in a client server environment and/or reporting and process development.
- Extensive knowledge of system development lifecycle processes and the health care business is preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, process improvement, and documentation skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience with IDX and/or SQL is preferred.
- Experience with enterprise correspondence applications is desirable.
- Business analysis and or project management certification is desirable.
