Background of the position.

In order to leverage our global transportation spend and capabilities better, Customer Logistic Services (CLS) Regional Transportation team was created on cross-sector basis, e.g. serving Pharma, Medical Device & Diagnostics and Consumer Sectors of Johnson&Johnson. This organization took responsibility for all transportation for J&J on a global basis.

The CLS Regional Transportation Team is organized in 4 pillars:

- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Lead
- Transportation Operations Lead
- Compliance & Security Lead
- Transportation Technology, Analytics & Business Processes Lead

The mission is to deliver measurable, sustainable value to J&J that balances transportation cost and service while meeting quality, compliance and security requirements through a J&J enterprise-wide solution.

For this organization we are posting a position in Trade Compliance. He or she is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements and minimizing risks associated with the movement of commercial goods across international borders.

He or she will work with the regional compliance lead to develop regional processes & procedures in adherence to local laws and regulations as well as in accordance with corporate compliance and WWT goals, objectives and strategies.

Key Accountabilities :

- Direct and oversee OPERATIONAL adherence to numerous trade regulations and programs that impact import and export of J&J product and materials across EMEA, such as AEO, Known Shipper status, Approved Exporter Status, embargoes…
- Key responsibilities include but are not limited to leading Trade Compliance Competency Development, identify opportunities for Free Trade Agreement use between countries to reduce supply chain costs.
- Initiate, pilot and monitor improvement PROJECTS to ensure practices are harmonized across J&J business entities for the various trade compliance areas. Including but not limited to classification, valuation, and recordkeeping
- Improve the management of JNJ Customs Brokers, implement SOP's and related monitoring tools
- He or she will collaborate with WWT, business owners and stakeholders from different sectors, as well as WWT EMEA team members of other pillars to drive change and implement strong trade compliance guidelines
- Occasional travel will be required. Constant communication with internal stakeholders is a must.

Key Performance Metrics :

- Improvement Customs Brokerage processes and service levels
- Contracts in place including predefined KPI's
- Operational support to all JNJ businesses on trade compliance related topics: HS classification, Country of Origin, Valuation…
- Operational support to all JNJ businesses in case of customs or VAT audits
- Minimization of regulatory and security detrimental issues to business

Qualifications


Qualifications and Experience:

- Preferably a Master educational level or equivalent in logistics, supply chain
- Work experience of 5 ~10 years
- A background in transportation / logistics, customs compliance with about 3-5 years experience in this field in the sector is essential. Function holder serves as a subject matter expert within this functional area
- Customer oriented and a pro-active, hands-on attitude
- Good communication skills. Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different organizations
- Strong leadership skills, able to convince people and to federate around projects
- Strong analytical and organization skills with excellent capabilities in process mapping; Ability to work in a matrix organization; Strong project management competencies
- Proven experience in working in highly complex and constantly changing work environment; dealing with constant changes in priorities is second nature
- Track record of success in delivering business results
- Fluent in English, fluency in additional languages (Dutch, French,...) is a plus
- Living in Belgium or willing to move to Belgium
