The Malvern site is a biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The Technical Operations Intern will: Function as a member of the Technical Operations team and work closely with operations, validation, and quality to ensure successful implementation of projects as well as work with Management, Process Specialists, Operations Specialists, and Biotechnicians to support the operation of the Technical Operations Department. Support the Upstream and/or Downstream Manufacturing areas and performance improvement initiatives. Support the deployment of daily operations in the Downstream and/or Upstream areas. Maintain current training status in keeping with Quality cGMP. Establish and demonstrate an understanding of GMP requirements. Establish and demonstrate an understanding of basic metric reporting and maintain timely up to date information. Assist in completion of project timelines, document preparation, and identify areas of opportunity. Provide solid communication and collaboration skills across functions. Gain an understanding of the manufacturing process. The intern may also: Prepare and execute Standard Operating Procedures, engineering documentation, maintenance procedures, and various GMP systems such as ETS, and SAP. Identify and, working with the different departments, eliminate barriers to meet deadlines. Communicate activities and results to the site in all directions. Develop and report appropriate metrics. Track, validate, and upload site results. Establish and sustain industry knowledge through learning and training at the Malvern site.

Qualifications


Enrolled (not necessarily taking classes) at an accredited college/university and pursuing at least a Bachelors Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, BioEngineering, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related Life Science or Engineering academic major is required. Interest in gaining experience in a manufacturing environment, biopharmaceutical, or pharmaceutical industry is required. Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during this Summer (May/June - August) Internship is required. Completed of at least freshman year of undergraduate school is required. A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 is strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus/community service activities are desired. Working knowledge of computer skills and applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Schedule Pro is preferred.

Internships are located in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Students must be able to provide their own transportation to this location. A stipend will be offered to students that meet the commuting distance eligibility requirements. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future.
