The Sales Activation Manager is responsible for executing the sales and marketing programming and communication strategy.   This position collaborates with Channel Marketing to be the “Voice of sales” throughout the development of national trimester promotions (e.g. POS, value-added offers, consumer promotions) to ensure successful execution at retail.

They will manage the sales communications processes and tools to ensure timely delivery of channel programming and necessary brand communications within their assigned segments.   They will work to develop solutions that address the needs and opportunities identified by field sales, chain and marketing and drive the process to create effective selling tools (sell sheets, sell decks, 1-pagers and sales rally presentations),    They will work in partnership with Channel Marketing, M arketing (Field & National),, POS Fulfillment, and Agency Partners to develop the programming communications and ensure that it is complete, timely and seamless to the Field Marketing and Sales Organization.

Area of Responsibility:

Sales Communications Development and Management -
*Development of clear, concise and timely communication of all programming through a variety of vehicles (selling decks, sell sheets, etc.) to Field Marketing and Sales and Chain Accounts enabling improved retail execution.
*Filter and manage marketing and sales related communications targeted at the Marketing/Sales/Distributor organization.
*Act as a filter between the wider organization and the Marketing organization to ensure that the Sales organization is focused against the right programs and initiatives.
*Manage conflicting demands and balance long-term and short-term initiatives to ensure overall delivery and execution of the appropriate plans through others
*Develop selling stories for strategic programming and new brands/packages (focus on strategic and channel with Category Management input)
*Keep a “pulse” on the business through consistent calls and market area visits including meetings with distributors and participating in local planning meetings.
*Exemplify exceptional customer service, exceeding internal and external customer expectations.   Get rave reviews from sales employees and distributors on the value and timeliness of our communications.
*Manage timelines with Brand/Channel teams and agency partners to ensure all deliverable dates are met.


Bachelor degree in Business, Communications or related field required; post graduate degree in Communications or Business preferred 
 
*Marketing or sales experience 5-8 years, preferably CPG experience
*Comprehensive understanding of the distributor network and operations
*Comprehensive understanding of retail chain operations and retail selling techniques and processes
In-depth understanding of the beer industry
Knowledge
*Proven experience and success in planning, developing and executing communications strategies to achieve desired behaviors
*Thorough knowledge of the beverage industry with special emphasis in understanding the dynamics of the three-tier system.
*Thorough understanding of how the sales and distribution system operates and how it relates to the company’s overall *Thorough understanding of key alcohol industry issues and the company’s policies and values.
*Retail knowledge and sales experience, effective leadership skills, strong negotiation and communication skills.
*Ability to provide sound, creative direction and the evaluation thereof.
*Demonstration of thought leadership and problem-solving skills.
*Thinking “outside the box.”
*Experience in presenting to a broad range of audiences, inclusive of senior management, with impact.
