National Director, Workforce Wellness

Provides strategic direction, leadership and expertise in developing and implementing a national workforce wellness program in support of Kaiser Permanente's (KP's) aim to have the healthiest workforce in health care. This includes, but is not limited to identifying, evaluating and optimizing opportunities to improve health and productivity performance. Collaborates with national and regional executives at the highest levels of the organization, partners with labor leaders, and manages a team of professionals who are accountable for designing and implementing programs and projects to achieve the organization's workforce wellness goals in an effective and efficient fashion.

Accountable to KP's market-facing leaders who promote workforce wellness programs among KP's employer customers. KP's credibility in the marketplace requires the organization's own workforce wellness programs to be evidence-based, innovative, and to achieve successful outcomes of improved health. Working with senior leaders in Marketing, Sales, Service and Administration (MSSA), HealthWorks and others, is responsible for developing and continually updating a shared strategy and portfolio of programs reflective of our position as one of the largest customers of the Kaiser Permanente Health Plan.

Collaborates with national and regional executives at the highest levels of the organization, partners with labor leaders, and manages a team of professionals who are accountable for designing and implementing programs and projects to achieve the organization's workforce wellness goals in an effective and efficient fashion.

- Responsible for strategizing and executing on certain provisions in labor contracts. KP's (2012) National Agreement contains provisions for improved workforce health and wellness based on population-based health improvements.
- Understands and addresses the incidence of chronic disease and health risks among our employees with the aim of keeping healthy employees healthy, and reducing health risks where present. Utilizing evidence from internal and external sources, oversees the development and execution of programs that proactively address the behavioral (mental) and physical health needs of the workforce. Responsible for developing meaningful analytics and metrics to demonstrate improvements in the health status of the Kaiser Permanente workforce.
- Builds a robust repository of best practices, and enabling enterprise-wide performance improvement, looks ahead 2 to 5 years to ensure that KP is prepared to accomplish its mission within a rapidly changing healthcare and regulatory environment. This may include, but is not limited to:

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Behavioral Sciences, or related field, or equivalent directly applicable experience.
- 12 years of experience in managing workforce wellness programs, change leadership, group interactions and dynamics, collaboration and facilitation of large scale organizational transformation.
- Demonstrated results in workforce wellness, change leadership, group interaction and dynamics, collaboration and facilitation of large scale organizational transformation.
- Demonstrated success in complex analytic problem solving, project management, communications, change management, and group process.
- Proven leadership, influence, communication, partnership, collaboration, and influencing skills are essential. Demonstrated experience working across functional and regional lines, with strong ability to lead and coordinate projects/initiatives with multiple internal and external constituents at national, regional, and local levels.
- Demonstrated success in developing effective working relationships with national and regional leaders and labor partners.
- Experience in achieving high results and optimizing performance within a highly complex and matrix organizational structure. Must balance and represent multiple perspectives and priorities of the national program.
- Excellent consulting, facilitation, leadership and communication and presentation skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration or Behavioral Sciences, or related field, or equivalent directly applicable experience.
