Under direct supervision performs a variety of routine & specialized nursing procedures & patient care duties according to practice, routine or established procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Performs a variety of routine & specialized nursing procedures & patient care duties, administers treatment using therapeutic equipment, & reads & records medical information in medical charts or data base record
- Observes vital signs, symptoms & reactions to medications & treatments
- Instructs patients & members regarding use of medications, injections & other patient education information
- Escorts patient to the examination room & prepares room for procedures
- Prepares & assists w/ needed equipment & supplies (passing instruments, setting up examination room)
- Orders, stores & maintains inventory of medical supplies, involving lifting & carrying up to 15 pounds & occasional lifting & carrying of approximately 15 - 40 pounds
- In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors & principles defined by the KP Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives
- Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, & behaviors necessary to provide superior & culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, & to purchasers, contracted providers & vendors
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 months of experience w/ adults, pediatrics and/or trauma
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Licensed as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Colorad
- IV therapy certification may be required for some positions
- Position requires working w/ constant noise & interruptions; near radiant energy sources; w/ hazardous waste; around moving equipment (wheelchairs); & w/ hands in water
- May work w/ grease & oils
- May be required to lift patients using proper lifting techniques
Preferred Skills -
Required to travel to all three wound care clinics.
Will be covering sick call and vacation as needed.
Must be flexible and willing to work in fast paced clinic environment.
Will be assisting with wound care and procedures.
Mon-Fri variable hours
External hires must pass a background check/drug screen.
