Accountable for success in both Individual & Group Medicare; includes oversight of Medicare sales managers sales staff, sales incentive plan, department budget, & bringing market perspective to Regional & Interregional product development & strategy workgroups. Accountable for creating a culture of compliance, ethics & integrity. Maintains knowledge of & assures departmental compliance w/ Kaiser Permanente's Principles of Responsibility & policies & procedures, & applicable regulatory requirements & accreditation standards. Responds appropriately to observed fraud or abuse.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for partnering within the organization to develop regional rate setting & membership forecasts
- Works w/ other members of the Medicare Line of Business to implement shared objectives (market expansion, product development, marketing budgets & plans, etc)
- Directs assigned staff; to include interviewing, selecting, training, motivating, evaluating, counseling, disciplining & terminating in compliance w/ EEO/AA goals & personnel policies of the organization, Includes both Individual & Group Medicare Sales staff
- Oversight of the Medicare Sales Incentive Program
- Accountable for the Medicare Sales Department Budget of approximately $3,000,000
- Provides market insight to inform Medicare product & promotion strategies & decisions both Regionally an Interregionally
- Accountable for achieving annual Sales & membership targets for both Individual & Group Medicare sales
- Through the use of Medicare Sales analytic resources, evaluate both leading & lagging indicators to inform Regional Medicare performance & strategy
- Responsible for working w/ the existing resources in Program Office, coordination & collaboration w/ the national call centers, & Broker Channel Management
- Meets CMS & state requirements & ensures Medicare beneficiaries understand the products they are receiving
- Maintains knowledge of Medicare regulations, managed care industry & competitive market
- Accountable for all sales practices to be in compliance w/ all State & Federal laws regulating the sales of health insurance
- Maintains current information & knowledge of all applicable Kaiser Permanente policies, local, state & federal laws & regulations, & accreditation standards
- Ensures that the training activities incorporate all applicable Kaiser Permanente policies, local, state & federal laws & regulations, & accreditation standards
- In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors & principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives
- Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, & behaviors necessary to provide superior & culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, & to purchasers, contracted providers & vendors
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5 years of sales experience
- Minimum of 2 years of management / supervisory experience in a sales environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of Medicare management experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a complex matrixed environment preferred
- Colorado Health License required within 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a sales environment w/ brokers & other distribution channels
