Position Description: As part of the Ryder team, the Technical Lead will perform a variety of job functions. Part of which will include but not limited to: data governance, platform performance, scalability, security, disaster recovery, development, integration, and production environments, development architecture and naming standards, application upgrade planning, implementation, and vendor management for the primary data warehouse database platform.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related experience
- Minimum 5 years experience working in an enterprise data warehouse environment.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience managing and developing SQL 2005/2008 databases.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience managing and developing with Informatica ETL tools

- Ability to communicate with various levels of management on a business and technical level including the ability to express complex technical concept in business term.
- Good organizational management skills, able to operate as part of cross-functional project team that will organize, plan and execute varying scale projects from vision to implementation.
Responsibilities: Understands:
- Data Warehousing theory and techniques
- ETL techniques, including the development of staging areas, recoveries, data cleansing, fact and dimension tables, slowly changing dimensions, conformations, and the use of surrogate vs. natural keys.
- Advanced SQL
- That the end user is the primary reason for the technology, and therefore strives for full customer satisfaction.
- Work with key members of various departments to determine the definitions of essential data elements.
- Develop robust and precise ETL routines to load the Data Warehouse from various sources.
- Designs and writes the scripts required to extract, transform, load (ETL), clean, and move data and metadata so it can be loaded into a data warehouse, data mart, or data store.
- Works with the Business Intelligence Analyst to identify and understand source systems to meet business requirements.
- Designs logical and physical data warehouse models.
- Maps source system data to data warehouse models.
- Develops and tests for extraction, transformation, and load ETL processes.
- Defines and captures metadata and rules associated with ETL processes.
- Adapts ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements.
- Responsible for monitoring performance and physical space requirement for the database.
