Essential Functions:
- Greet and assist patients, follow appropriate patient registration/check-in policies and procedures and verify and update demographics.
- Working knowledge of Health Plan coverage types.
- Check in patients by following check-in procedures.
- Determine patient's membership and create accounts as necessary.
- Capture and populate workers' compensation data.
- Manage electronic in-basket.
- Use notes function where applicable to document prepayments.
- Obtain patient medical record numbers when necessary.
- Collect copays and fees.
- Generate appropriate encounter forms.
- Check out patients by following check-out policies and procedures.
- Follow appropriate procedures when registering exception-type patients such as non-members, out-of-area health plan members, Medicare, Medi-Cal and industrial patients.
- Assist patients as needed.
- Booking appointments for Radiology.
- Maintain the patient will-call area box if applicable.
- Communicate with clinical and business office staff as needed.
- May be required to work in other Radiology Modalities (IR, Mammography, Front Desk/CT, Ultrasound, Nuc Med, Ultrasound and MRI) subject to departmental needs.
- Cash Handling, Reconciliation and Deposit.
1. Handle cash according to the Cash Handling Responsibility Agreement
- Comply with all applicable cash handling policies and procedures
2. The registration designee is responsible for the safekeeping of change funds, all revenue collected during the shift, all assigned revenue documents and all keys assigned for cash control
3. Obtain, secure and ensure sufficient denominations to provide change
4. Reconcile shift and deposit funds according to the Cash Handling Responsibility Agreement
5. Use correct procedures to document and report discrepancies
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 6 month work experience.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Communicate with health care providers, staff patients and visitors.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to multi-task, organize, manage time and prioritize workflow in a complex environment.
- Knowledge of computer and computer keyboard.
- Must be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
