Job description

The System Architect - DR/COOP will lead, develop, and implement disaster recovery (DR) and continuity of operations (COOP) planning in an IT services environment. Interact with customers and IBM teams to gather requirements and develop solutions. Coordinate with infrastructure and application architects and compliance teams to ensure solution designs meet availability service levels and compliance requirements. Produce and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans, Continuity of Operations Plans, and other artifacts. Coordinate implementation of designed solutions. Schedule and lead DR/COOP tests and exercises.

He/She should possess broad experience in the systems design process that culminates from a solid requirements gathering and customer interaction methodology. Broad knowledge of hardware and software product lines, both IBM and OEM, system-sizing techniques, and related systems management. This role involves multiple disciplines including development of solutions driven by customer requirements, identifying components, building architectural artifacts for proposal development and writing proposals. The position includes leading/directing other infrastructure team members to build working solutions. It requires the candidate to be able to see the big picture architecturally.

The work location for this position can be either Boulder, CO or Rocket Center, WV.

Required
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least 3 years experience in disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning.
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • English: Basic knowledge


Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3 years experience in planning, managing, and coordinating complex technical projects.
  • At least 3 years experience in enterprise system architecture, including server, storage, network, and system backup solutions.
  • At least 3 years experience in building complex end to end solutions using multi-vendor hardware/software.
  • At least 3 years experience in developing technical documentation of IT system environments.
  • At least 2 years experience in writing proposals.
  • English : Intermediate
