Responsible for organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of Rehabilitation services (PT, OT) within multiple locations/entire locationto support the department's mission. Responsible for supervising physical and occupational therapy staff and day to day operations within the unit. Plan, develop and implement new programs and services to ensure quality of care. Evaluate and treat patients upon referral to restore function, prevent disability and return patient to maximum potential.

Essential Functions:
- Maintain a contemporary professional knowledge of physical and occupational therapy practice/techniques
- Evaluate and treat patients with orthopedic, work-related, neurological, and conditions limiting function, ranging in age from geriatric to pediatric, in compliance with professional practice act; instruct patients in self-care and preventative measures
- Document patient's progress after each treatment; collaborate as needed with other health care providers; direct the therapy assistant in carrying out specific treatment programs
- Attend education and workshops
- Develop and implement clinical programs that support the department's strategic plan and the Program's quality of care objectives and strategies
- Maintain a contemporary knowledge of managerial techniques and skills that insure quality first-line supervision of staff and assets; maintain a thorough knowledge of human resource policy and labor agreements; supervise in an organized labor environment
- Maintain a contemporary knowledge of safety and security laws, standards and regulations; identify and remedy risks and hazards associated with the work performed; develop safety and security procedures for the workplace within the context of organizational and departmental policies
- Participate in regional work to include: access and appointment improvement, HealthConnect and technology upgrades, quality initiatives and training, and other regional work as assigned
- Most managers chair and or participate in a regional committee (Quality, Compliance, Service, HealthConnect)
- Integrate and effectively coordinate location physical and occupational therapy services with other departments, physicians, other health care professionals and medical office administration; maintain a productive, collaborative working relationship within the department. Identify and report issues identified as expanding beyond location boundaries; assist the Area Manager/Director in resolving such issues where appropriate
- Develop and implement location budget
- Analyze factors contributing to financial operations; collaborate with Director of Rehabilitation Services, when applicable, to identify department needs; formulate operational budget; present justification for non-standard requests; maintain and monitor all financial reports; interpret variances; initiate adjustments approve purchases; motivate employees to seek practical approaches to their work
- Identify, justify and procure necessary equipment and supplies needed to perform the daily work by staff; manage expendable equipment & give input to capital equipment budgets for locations; provide expert consultation to Rehab Directorin designing, remodeling, renovating and equipping the location Rehab(s) work space(s)
- Performs other duties as requested
- Some travel to Portland may be required

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a staff therapist; preferably in a managed care setting
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with first line supervision or comparable leadership experience in a health care setting
- Graduate of an accredited program of physical or occupational therapy
- Bachelor's degree in physical or occupational therapy
- Licensed in the state of Oregon or Washington at time of hire
- Working knowledge of state licensure laws and professional practice standards
- Thorough knowledge of contemporary physical and occupational therapy practices
- Working knowledge of principles of supervision, personnel management, and financial analysis
- Demonstrated contemporary skills to competently perform the duties of a staff therapist
- Demonstrated and proven communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and decision making while coping in a stressful, busy environment daily; ability to respond calmly, courteously, and effectively in stressful situations
- Demonstrated ability to plan for and organize the daily work with limited resources and time
- Demonstrated time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Previous work experience at Kaiser Permanente
- Post-graduate physical or occupational therapy degree, specialty certification or management degree
- Working knowledge of supervisory techniques and skills
- Current working knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and standards
- General knowledge of business practices in a prepaid group practice setting
- Working knowledge of EpicCare patient documentation
- Demonstrated computer/word processing skills
- Demonstrated ability to cope with stressful, busy environment with a professional, controlled demeanor

Salary Range:
$100,150 - $133,450
