Reporting to the Worldwide Vice President of Franchise Operations Development for Vision Care, the Director, Franchise Operations Development Engineering, Process Capability will be responsible for leading strategic development and deployment of New Product Introduction Engineering capabilities and improving current product process capabilities to enable and deliver overall business growth. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with interdependent partners such as the Medical Device and Diagnostics (MD&D) Supply Chain, Commercial organizations and R&D to deliver continuity in technology and to ensure a sustainable supply of new products, current products, BCP for raw materials and competitive cost as the outcome of Design to Value.
The Director will be responsible for: collaborating with R&D, Engineering, FOD and the MD&D Supply Chain to ensure a balanced delivery of New Product and Base Business Product objectives across the franchise; ensuring key aspects of new product process development from design through post-launch meet the established project objectives; ensuring current products are improved to deliver higher capability for key process and quality parameters to meet customer expectations and improve customer experiences; securing the necessary resources to enable robust process development for new products and improved capability for current products; managing the development of new product processes including assets for internally or externally manufactured products; partnering with R&D to enable concurrent product / process development through the early stages of the Global New product process (GNPP); supporting the BP process by providing data in relation to all products in the NP pipeline as well as current products for supply planning; providing NPI and Base Business Engineering resource leadership; building Engineering and Technology capabilities to support growth platforms; delivering robust processes and products to the MD&D Supply Chain; driving continuous improvement for NPI and Base Business Process Engineering methods; creating and implementing BCP strategies for raw materials (new products and current products); identifying and coaching potential leader and creating and maintaining an environment where people are valued and ensuring alignment of global supply capabilities, process skills and technologies.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required; a minimum of a Bachelors Degree within a technical or engineering discipline is preferred; an advanced degree is preferred; a minimum of twelve (12) years of business experience is required; a minimum of five (5) years of business experience leading new product development, commercialization and / or launch is required; a minimum of eight (8) years of business experience partnering with R&D organizations and Supply Chain is required; experience working within the Medical Device industry is preferred; demonstrated department leadership is required; demonstrated success managing product and / or process integrations is required; superior data analysis and statistical skills are required; a working knowledge of FDA, ISO and BSI requirements is preferred; Six Sigma Belt certification is preferred; experience in High Speed Automation Engineering and / or R&D Product or Process Development is required; people management experience is required; demonstrated professional strengths in communication, leadership, coordination, collaboration, partnering, global thinking, strategic thinking, project management and process orientation is required. This position will require approximately 35% domestic and international travel and will be based in Jacksonville, Florida.
