Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Strategic Sourcing Lead for Packaging Commodities, located in Skillman, NJ.

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Group of Companies develops and markets consumer healthcare, baby care, and beauty/skin care products that address the needs of consumers and health care professionals and incorporate the latest innovations. The portfolio includes heritage brands JOHNSON'S® Baby, BAND-AID® Brand, LISTERINE®, leading skin care brands such as NEUTROGENA®, AVEENO®, CLEAN & CLEAR®, LUBRIDERM® and healthcare products such as NEOSPORIN®, CORTAID®, REMBRANDT® and REACH®. This role may also support the McNeil OTC brands.

The Sourcing Lead will collaboratively design and implement global/regional sourcing strategies that deliver best Total Value for the J&J Consumer Group of Companies and J&J customers for assigned packaging commodities. Will develop and implement robust SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) programs and contribute to the success of the Strategic Sourcing organization through upholding the spirit of the J&J Credo.

The Sourcing Lead will own and manage commodity groups/sourcing groups in area of packaging materials and will lead the development of global and/or regional sourcing strategies to deliver best Total Value for J&J. The Sourcing Lead will accomplish this through understanding consumer & business partner needs, markets dynamics, cost structures, and supplier capabilities. Effectively choose tailored sourcing approaches and tools; negotiate and implement commercial/contract terms. Where applicable, analyze complex supplier proposals and use decision-making tools/models, including financial and non-financial criteria, to facilitate award recommendations. Will conduct comprehensive supplier analysis and screening, including strategic direction, financial due diligence, market position, power within industry, capabilities & capacity, and risk assessment.

The Sourcing Lead will support supplier diversity efforts, and develop and implement Supplier Relationship program(s) for key suppliers in assigned commodity groups/sourcing groups. Develops a portfolio of supplier relationships that deliver on the requirements of cost, quality service and innovation.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required. A Business, Engineering, Packaging Design, or other related technical degree is preferred. A minimum of 4 years of strategic sourcing experience and/or combination of purchasing/procurement, supply chain and/or manufacturing or finance experience is required or other related technical concentration. An MBA or other relevant advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related discipline is also preferred. An understanding of Manufacturing Operations and Plants is preferred. A demonstrated knowledge and application of the packaging marketplace and industry business needs (suppliers, technologies, economics, etc.) using metrics such as improved supplier reliability and gross profit improvement is preferred. Previous experience analyzing supply industries, key cost drivers and market dynamics is preferred. Experience analyzing bid packages, conducting supplier analysis, resolving invoice and/or payment issues are preferred. Supporting commodity strategies in a matrixed environment is preferred. Previous experience supporting supplier diversity efforts is preferred. MRP/ERP experience, particularly SAP, is preferred. MS Excel proficiency is required. The candidate will possess strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to drive results through a global matrix structure is required. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership experience is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to develop and maintain strong inter-company and inter-department relationships.

This position is based out of Skillman, NJ and may require up to 25% domestic and international travel.
