The Supplier Quality Manager has primary responsibility to provide Supplier Quality Assurance expertise, direction and guidance to the DePuy Franchise Supplier Quality Group in Raynham and San Jose. This position provides supplier quality support to the DePuy Orthopaedics, DePuy Spine, DePuy Mitek, DePuy Codman Franchises in Raynham in line with established corporate and regulatory standards. In addition this position has responsibility to provide supplier management support for Codman in Juarez, Miramar and San Jose. Plan, develop and monitor QA systems to ensure that the company meets its quality objectives with regard to supplier controls. This individual will have responsibility for implementation of External Manufacturing Quality Systems to support outsourcing of products. He/she will ensure Quality, Operational, Process Improvement and Product Development/Transfer issues and projects are implemented in an efficient and effective manner. Minimizes risk and assures equivalent Quality levels are maintained.

The Supplier Quality Manager will recruit, develop and manage the Raynham supplier quality team to ensure a high performing team to achieve the group's objectives. He/she will provide Quality Engineering support to suppliers including inspection technique support, product non-conformances, verification/validation activities, CAPA and change management. The Supplier Quality Manager will ensure effective and timely investigation and closure of all CAPA's, Supplier Non Conformances, complaints, product issues. He/she will report on contract manufacturer performance metrics and management reviews. This individual will handle complex technical issues for manufacturing processes that are to be transferred to satellite facilities. The Supplier Quality Manager will support third party assessments at both DePuy and suppliers. He/she will conduct internal audits within the DePuy organization. This individual will provide Quality Leadership in support of External Manufacturing Outsourcing programs. He/she will manage the supplier audit schedule for the Raynham site. He/she will drive a standardised approach by attending the Supplier Management Committee meetings and lead where required. This individual will maintain and control the list of approved suppliers for the DePuy group of companies. The Supplier Quality Manager will maintain and control company SOPs in support of initial supplier approval and continuous supplier evaluation. He/she will maintain supplier management documentation and records to ensure they are complete and current. This individual will promote continuous improvement and Process Excellence activities within the DePuy franchise WW Supplier Quality Management group. He/she will work to ensure supplier engineering resources are prioritised in support of business and quality aims. He she will actively drive all defined External Manufacturing Quality Systems goals and objectives. The Supplier Quality Manager will conduct on-site quality, HSE and process assessments at preferred, non-preferred and EM suppliers both to approve new suppliers and on an ongoing basis. He/she will be asked to ensure suppliers continue to meet DePuy Quality requirements with regard to SEP-619 compliance. Design and validate Quality System processes where appropriate. He/she will participate in design evaluations where appropriate. This individual will resolve problems & eliminate constraints to ensure project and supply targets are met. He/she will generate Quality metrics on supplier performance and establish measures to monitor quality. He/she will communicate and assure appropriate implementation of Quality Process Specifications (QPS), Quality Control Test Specifications (QCTS), and Raw Material Specifications (RMS) etc... This individual will maintain standards of housekeeping & GMP requirements. The Supplier Quality Manager will represent the Supply Process Quality Assurance function as required by management. He/she will ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are fulfilled. Maintain detailed and accurate records of all activities.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering/scientific or associated relevant technical / engineering discipline is required. A Master's degree in engineering/scientific or discipline is preferred. A minimum of 8 years progressive experience in a regulated industry is required. A minimum of 4 years experience in a managerial capacity is required. Previous work experience with Suppliers is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of business impact of compliance issues and risk management is required. Experience in leadership roles involving project management, problem solving and technical projects is required. This individual is required to possess high performing skills in negotiating and influencing decision makers, decision making skills, leadership skills, communication skills, judgement, tact and leadership skills.

This position is located in Raynham, MA and will require up to 30% travel, including some international.
