Description
McNeil, a member of Johnson & Johnson Family of companies is currently recruiting for a Director External Manufacturing, to be located in, Fort Washington, PA.
McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, , and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants.
The Director will be responsible for implementing the strategic initiatives for Fill Finish external Manufacturer's. He/she will be responsible for business intelligence gathering and analysis as well as sourcing decision analysis and input. The Director will interface with Business Development and Strategic Sourcing and other pertinent functional groups to conduct supply chain due diligence for regional products. He/she will be in charge of metrics, cost savings identification and analysis. The successful candidate will drive innovative solutions identified by External Manufacturers as well as driving "future state" network strategy. This person will be responsible for selection, technology transfer, and oversight of manufacturing and decommissioning of sites. He/she will provide leadership and guidance to peers and colleagues responsible for delivering on EM business and performance goals. The Director will develop and maintain relationships with local affiliates and other J&J sectors and participate in overall governance process. He/she will be responsible for contract writing, updating and leading contract negotiations for EM's and network with stakeholders from other internal and external groups. The successful candidate will perform analysis such as comparative analysis, rationalization analysis, sourcing decisions, business intelligence gathering and cost optimization identification analysis. He/she will insure new products and product transfers, when sited at EM's, are on time and within budget. The Director will monitor and implement short and long term plans to achieve department strategy & goals. The candidate will identify, evaluate and select EM's who can augment our capabilities for manufacturing and managed the relationship as needed. They will identify, escalate and facilitate resolution of manufacturing supply chain issues that may adversely affect performance goals. He/she will define business processes, document and implement.
This position is accountable to implement the McNeil OTC External Manufacturing Network consolidation strategy. This position includes the development and implementation of the McNeil technical platforms (solid dose, liquids manufacturing and packaging). Responsibilities include delivering manufacturing results from multiple external manufacturing sites. It may also include the startup of new external manufacturing sites. This position requires leadership skills that continue to develop the External Manufacturing SiteManagers who are responsible for the management of these external manufacturing sites. Deliverables include business performance, business continuity and required governance that meet all compliance and regulatory requirements. This position requires building and maintaining a good relationship with the external manufacturing partners , as well as internal stake holders. Other responsibilities include identifying opportunities and leading cross-functional projects to significantly improve the operational effectiveness of the McNeil external manufacturing network such as new product introduction, change control management, manufacturing process capability improvement, manufacturing and process robustness.
They will have an active part in participating in, establishing, administering and improving department policies and procedures. The Director will negotiate contracts, changes and amendments with external parties in alignment with contract development function. This person will investigate, analyze, report and track company and industry trends for the region that can impact EM strategy. He/she will train, coach and mentor EM site leads in supply chain reliability and network optimization. This position has interactions within McNeil with other key functional groups, Internal Manufacturing, Customer & Product Groups and Procurement. He/she will interact within McNeil and with other J&J Affiliates as well as External Manufacturers.

Qualifications
A minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a technical degree is required. A Masters degree in Business is highly preferred. A minimum of 12 years of Supply Chain experience is required. Additionally, 3 years of External Manufacturing exposure is preferred. Experience with contract negotiation and external suppliers is required. Knowledge of "Fill Finish" Pharmaceutical manufacturing processes is required. The ideal candidate will display a strong business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit with a demonstrated success record of end-to-end business processes and supply chain process understanding. Additionally, the role will require business agility and savvy in navigating through a heavily matrixed organization. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration and business partnering skills in a highly regulated environment is required. Consent Decree experience is highly desired. Direct business exposure in finance, business development, and compliance is required. This person must have a demonstrated ability to manage complex sites with matrixed hierarchies. Experience in negotiating and managing complex contracts is required. The person must have the ability to comprehend new technologies and assimilate technologies quickly. The ability to mentor/manage junior level managers required. The Director must have the ability to make timely decision for the success of this position. This job requires significant independent decision making over multi-disciplines on a global basis. Influence management is important both within McNeil and in managing external partners. This is a position that will require at least 30% travel internationally and domestically. Travel schedule and distances necessitate periods of absence from 2 to 10 days. This role will be based in Ft Washington, PA.
