Principal Engineer/Scientist — Parenterals, Liquids, Creams and Transdermals Platform Global Technical Services-000008M3

Global Technical Services, being part of the Janssen Supply Chain, is currently looking for a Principal Engineer and/or Scientist (with Engineering experience) for Parenterals, Liquids, Creams and Transdermals Technologies to be based in Europe, preferably Beerse or Schaffhausen.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Lead cross functional teams to develop and deliver projects required to achieve goals in Technology and/or Science in the key focus areas for Global Technical Services:

- Provide technical support to top line growth (NPI, L&A, growing markets)
- Enhance reliability, compliance & efficiency of product value chains E2E
- Integrate JSC Mfg Operations and PDMS in partnership with Product Mgt and Customer Mgt

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Asset/Equipment Centered Technical Support (30-40 % of time)

- Manage or contribute to the Asset Master Planning Process (Site and Platform Master Planning);
- Manage Capital projects with significant financial and business impact; develop business cases, perform the project front-end loading (feasibility study, scoping, resource planning, risk management), perform conceptual design, detailed design) and projects delivery.

2. Product Centered Technical support (30-40 % of time)

- Develop, manage and transfer advanced knowledge on legacy or new formulations, processes, manufacturing technologies, analytical technologies, raw materials, primary containers and associated components (administration devices);
- Lead or support integration of New Products into the network;
- Lead Technology Transfer projects;
- Technically own one or more products post launch (Technical Life Cycle Management);
- Lead or support Process Capability/Quality Improvement efforts;
- Lead or support breakthrough improvements in Cost of Goods Produced and/or supports internal & external manufacturing sites to define improvement goals and plans (benchmark driven) and oversee implementation providing leadership and advanced expertise.

3. Develop the Standardization and Innovation Strategy for the technologies in scope (10-15 % of time)

- Develop or support Platform Standards on process technology and equipment and deploy best practices to internal and external manufacturing Sites;
- Scout the market for technologies & innovative approaches and assess the value for deployment in our network and drive or oversee the implementation.

4. Business Development (grow the Top Line) (5-10 % of time)

- Participate in Due Diligences for Licensing & Acquisition of New Products or New Assets; provide a scientific/technical recommendation;
- Facilitate the Technical integration of acquired businesses.

Qualifications


- You have a University/Master Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or Equivalent;
- You have at least 10+ years related experience in the pharmaceutical sector overall with past proven field experience in the following areas:
- Manufacturing and/or development of Liquids, Semi-solids and Parenterals dosage forms for small/large molecules (incl. Primary Packaging) (Required);
- Process Sciences, QbD development, advanced analytical technology, PAT technologies (Required);
- Project Management (FPX certification or equivalent) (asset);
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance cGMP and EH&S;
- Systems Qualification and/or Process Validations (asset);
- Operational Excellence (Lean, Process Excellence, Design Excellence) (asset).

- Decision Making and problem solving:
- Ability to operate in a complex global matrix organization with multiple stakeholders with limited guidance and supervision;
- Ability to independently develop or assess Business Cases, perform feasibility studies, develop action plans related to Network and/or Assets Optimization, Processes Improvements, Costs and/or Quality improvements;
- Ability to effectively perform Root Cause Analysis on processing deviations and/or Supply Chain escalations and coordinate action planning;
- Ability to develop and access a network of Subject Matter Experts
