The Health Information Exchange (HIE) Business Consultant Specialist is a senior analyst position on Kaiser Permanente's National HIE engagement team.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute processes for gathering requirements, conduct business process and systems analysis to document gaps, and work with technical teams to extend KP's health information exchange solution.
- Lead requirements gathering and implementation activities across KP's eight regional business entities to adopt health information exchange technology products.
- Collaborate with internal customers, work with external business partners, and will participate in outside standards setting organizations to understand emerging industry trends, regulations and policies to support KP's healthcare business.
- Work with team mates across the HIE program including HIE implementation, technical and testing staff, as well as national and regional business stakeholders.
- On-time and on-budget project delivery is a key requirement of this position.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field and/or 4 years of equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in documenting functional requirements, analyzes business process, and develops business cases to support IT solutions.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working with internal customers to identify and reconcile business requirements with technical capabilities
-Ability to codify business requirements in a format that can be consumed by technical teams as the basis for solution design
-Ability to effectively coordinate and perform product implementations
-Ability to respond appropriately to various stakeholders with competing priorities
-Ability to work in a cross functional capacity with development, QA, documentation, support, and other individuals or teams
-Promotes and maintains a positive relationship with all program stakeholders to support the successful implementation of KP HIE solutions
-Creates and follows detailed, repeatable processes for both new and existing client implementations.
-Proven track record with on-time and on-budget project delivery
-Proven track record working with third party vendors
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in healthcare industry
-Experience working for large organizations
-Experience with Agile development and SDLC project methodologies
-Demonstrated experience with product management and delivery
-Proven understanding and knowledge of health information technology solutions and stacks
-Proven track record implementing health information exchange platforms and services
-Understanding of current health information exchange industry trends and activities
-Previous understanding of KP organization structure and business landscape
-Previous understanding of Epic's electronic health records systems and HIE module (KP HealthConnect and Epic Care Everywhere)-Experience supporting the implementation and adoption of health information exchange .
