Job Summary



The purpose of this role is to lead and champion a portfolio of world-class international brands, to
ensure the delivery of the regions profit, volume, and strategic brand building (equity) goals.  Key role responsibilities include:

§  Develop country specific marketing mix (advertising, media, promotional programs and price management tactics) as well as evaluating and monitoring performance.

§  Lead and direct external and internal resources to implement brand, channel, customer, and consumer strategies (Agencies, Trade Marketing, Sales)

§  Develop strategic annual plans

§  Optimize brand portfolio strategy

§  Manage brand/portfolio P&L

Brand Portfolio Management

 




  • Define portfolio strategies for region
  • Analyze and identify region opportunities and target consumers
  • Drive brand positioning across all elements of the marketing mix consistent with portfolio strategies
  • Provide input and active role on region program development
  • Achieve region volume, profit, and brand health targets


Brand building at the region level by managing short term and long term growth opportunities




  • Set brand goals and objectives à Drive brand positioning throughout the region
  • Lead the strategic marketing direction for the brand in the region with an understanding of global brand, channel, customer and consumer objectives and strategies

§  Complete approved research in support of Plan imperatives.

§  Keep a brand health scorecard for the region’s key markets (as appropriate given data and budgets).


  • Lead and Manage a cross functional team in the development of ATL/BTL programming (Creative Agency, Media Agency, PR, Trade Marketing, Sales)
  • Develop country specific marketing mix (advertising, media, promotional programs and price management tactics)

§  Develop local programming to support plan objectives.


  • Evaluating and monitoring brand and program performance.
  • Manage conflicting brand/market demands and balance long term and short term initiatives to ensure overall delivery.

  • Collaborate with markets to develop region/local market area annual and 3 yr. plans

  • Support annual plans as it relates to brand/channel strategy, local consumer insights and resource allocation
  • Financial planning assigned for brand programs and departments


Stakeholder Coordination and Communication




  • Clearly communicate all International brand programs. Provide clear direction and demonstrate leadership through meeting timelines.
  • Understand International brand strategies, link to country strategies and apply them to the development of International brand programs and creative messaging
  • Seek to share learning’s and expand best practice principles throughout the region
  • Develop and maintain positive, constructive business building relationships with internal team members and outside partners, retailers and vendors
  • Manage the link with the Global brand teams and understanding of their resources and plans and translation of plans for use by International markets.

§  Connect the U.S. MillerCoors brand teams (Miller Lite in particular) to programs and initiatives available for international markets and vice versa.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities




Education level and/or experience


· 6+ years marketing/sales experience within a blue chip consumer goods company is required preferably in strategic brand management.

· MBA is preferred

· Experience in executing ATL/BTL programming including local event activation, sales promotion, and retail merchandising through distributors and retailers.

· Knowledge in the areas of:

o    Brand portfolio management

o    Executing brand strategies

o    Marketing principles and techniques

o    Marketing mix management

o    Management of creative and promotion process

· Sound understanding of sales and distribution

· Refined skill base in providing creative direction to agencies and the evaluation thereof

· Strong analytical background would be important with experience in analyzing information from a wide range of sources; including consumer data



Skills and/or knowledge


· Management of broad range of marketing tools including strategic development, and planning, budgeting, business analysis, advertising, promotions, merchandising and research and analysis

· Leadership skills - Success in motivating and inspiring a team to achieve results greater than individual actions and to instill confidence within the system.

· Strong business acumen

· Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity

· Spanish and English language proficiency
