Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- BS in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, or related field of study and 3+ years of appropriate work experience within a plant breeding environment.
- Familiarity with breeding and research methodologies.
- Knowledge of basic statistics and experimental design principles.
- Knowledge of crop production, farming practices, and farm equipment operation and repair.
- Strong computer skills related to data acquisition, organization, and analysis. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to balance and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work extended hours during the peak planting and harvesting seasons.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary/multicultural research team.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster a positive team environment.
